BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY Regular Meeting JUNE 28, 2022 10:30 AM Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Lynch at 10:33 A.M. Members Present: Mayor Lynch, Joetta Collins, Jamie Lewis, and Stephanie Young-Johnson. Also, present was Clerk-Treasurer Nina Rivas and Attorney Dan Whitten. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING: Member Lewis made a motion to approve the June 14, 2022 minutes; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Tag Day Request – Light of Life Food Pantry Member Lewis made a motion to approve the Special Event Request; Member Collins seconded the motion. End of Summer Festival – 09/17/22 Member Lewis made a motion to approve the Special Event Request; Member Young-Johnson seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays 2022 Street Paving & Repair Project – Change Order #2 Member Lewis made a motion to approve Change Order #2 in the amount of $8,100.00; Member Young- Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays Crowley Engineering – Approval for the Development of RFP for Maintenance Garage Member Collins made a motion to approve the development of the RFP for the maintenance garage; Member Lewis seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays Special Event Request – Living Hope Church, Prayer Tent - 07/03/22 Member Lewis made a motion to approve the Special Event Request; Member Young-Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays BULK ITEM APPEALS: 3206 Cooley Street Member Lewis made a motion to reverse the bulk item charge; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays CLAIMS: Member Lewis made a motion to approve the claims in the amount of $260,432.55 which includes the addition of two invoices in the amount of $7,677.00 from Whitten and Whitten; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays MAJOR ILLNESS CLAIMS: Member Lewis made a motion to approve six (6) Major Illness Claims; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Member Lewis made a motion to allow the RDC to take the lead on managing the sale of said properties; Member Young- Johnson seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board.
