BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY Regular Meeting JULY 26, 2022 10:30 AM Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Lynch at 10:30 A.M. Members Present: Mayor Lynch, Joetta Collins, Scott Williams, and Stephanie Young-Johnson. Also, present was Clerk-Treasurer Nina Rivas and Attorney Dan Whitten. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING: Member Williams made a motion to approve the June 28, 2022 minutes; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Tag Day Request – Light of Life Food Pantry Agenda item tabled as requested by the applicant. Member Williams made a motion to table the request; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays NEW BUSINESS: Contested Mowing of Weeds Invoice Attorney Whitten presented the Board with a tentative compromise agreement in the amount of $1,500.00. Member Collins made a motion to approve the agreement; Member Williams seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays Woodland Subdivision Letter of Credit Member Williams made a motion to accept the letter of credit; Member Stephanie Young-Johnson seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays Streetlight Agreement – Duneland Properties Member Williams made a motion to approve the Streetlight Agreement; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays Fire Truck – Award Bid Member Williams made a motion to award the fire truck bid to Spencer, the most responsive bidder, in the amount of $810,921.00; Member seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays BULK ITEM APPEALS: None. CLAIMS: Member Williams made a motion to approve the claims in the amount of $457,274.84; Member Collins seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 4 yes – 0 nays MAJOR ILLNESS CLAIMS: Member Collins made a motion to approve three (3) Major Illness Claims; Member Johnson seconded the motion.
