BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY Regular Meeting OCTOBER 25, 2022 10:30 AM Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Lynch at 10:30 A.M. Members Present: Mayor Lynch, Jamie Lewis, and Scott Williams. Also, present was Clerk-Treasurer Nina Rivas. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING: Member Williams made a motion to table the September 13, 2022, September 27, 2022, and October 11, 2022, minutes; Member Lewis seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: Special Event Request – Central Church of God Member Lewis made a motion to approve the request; Member Williams seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays Carnival/Exhibition Permit Member Williams made a motion to deny the permit application; Member Lewis seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays K-9 Flaco Retirement – Transfer to Handler Member Lewis made a motion to approve the retirement of K-9 Falco and the transfer to handler Officer Krieg; Member Williams seconded the motion. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays MOU – City of Portage and Porter County Library System Member Williams made a motion to approve the MOU, contingent upon legal review; Member Lewis seconded the motion. Member made a motion to approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement, contingent upon Council approval; Member seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board.
