BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY Regular Meeting August 22, 2023 10:30 AM Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Lynch at 10:34 A.M. Members Present: Mayor Lynch, Scott Williams, and Stephanie Young-Johnson. Also, present was Clerk- Treasurer Rivas and Attorney Dan Whitten. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING: Member Williams made a motion to approve the August 8, 2023 minutes; Member Young-Johnson seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays 2023 Street Paving & Repair Phase II – Open Bids Reith-Riley: $941,995.00 Milestone: $1,019,845.00 Member Williams made a motion to award the contract to Reith-Riley, as the lowest, most responsive bidder, contingent upon further staff and legal review; Member Young-Johnson seconded the motion. Member Young-Johnson made a motion to waive the fee; Member Williams seconded the motion. Mayor Lynch requested input from the Board. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays CLAIMS: Member Williams made a motion to approve the claims in the amount of $1,097,302.73; Member Young- Johnson seconded the motion. Motion passed. 3 yes – 0 nays OTHER BUSINESS: Attorney Whitten provided the Board with an agreement to review between the City of Portage and the Portage Recovery Association per the request of the Council.
