PRAIRIE VIEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION Notice of Regular Scheduled Board Meeting ​March 18, 2021; 6:00 p.m. Victorious Church, Community Room 21131 Pine Island Road Prairie View, Texas 77446 In accordance with an order of the Office of the Governor issued March 16, 2020, the Economic Development Corporation of the City of Prairie View will conduct a video conference and telephonic meeting in order to advance the public health goal of limiting face to-face meetings (also called “social distancing”) to slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Presentation by EC EDP Executive Director Vince Yokum about the partnership project and a presentation by Waller EDC Executive director John Isom on the new EDP tax rate (Vince Yokum) 6. Special recognition to all of the women business owners in our city honor of Women’s Month (Brown) 7. Presentation from Ms. Jasmine Espy from the Small Business Development Office discussing how her office will work with our COVID-19 Grant Recipients to fulfill their Performance Agreement (Brown) 8. Presentation by Attorney Zech and Discussion regarding strategies empower Economic Development Corporations to work more collaboratively with the City Councils (Brown) Action Items 9. Discuss, Consider, and Possible Action authorizing the expenditure of up to $2500.00 to share costs with the WC EDC for “Size-Up” one year license to provide detailed marking, planning information to Small Businesses in Prairie View for expansion and new business prospects (Vince Yokum WCEDP) 10. Discuss, Consider, and Possible Action authorizing the Prairie View EDC to participate in the development and implementation of the Echols Street project to include a possibly site for a PV EDC Office (Mayor Rowland) 11. Take action on reimbursement of Rae (edc intern) for her mileage and postage. It’s under $300.00 for the last 12 months (Brown) 12. Discuss, Consider, and Possible Action regarding Small Business Training Project (Lampkin) 13. Discuss, Consider, and Possible Action establishing an efficient disbursement procedure provided by the Prairie View Economic Development Corporation Accountant (Singleton) 14. Discuss, Consider, and Possible Action regarding Annual Report Distribution (Brown) 15. Discuss, Consider, and Possible Action regarding the status of the pending local COVID-19 Relief Grant recipients’ expansion/retention progress (Lampkin) Board/Staff Reports Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.0415, the Board of Directors, without having provided notice, may make reports about items of community interest if no action is taken and possible action is not discussed regarding the information provided in the report. “Items of community interest” include: (1) expressions of thanks, congratulations, or condolence; (2) information regarding holiday schedules; (3) an honorary or salutatory recognition of a public official, public employee, or other citizen, except that discussions regarding a change in the status of a person’s public office or public employment is not an honorary or salutatory recognition for purposes of the PVEDC; (4) a reminder about an upcoming event organized or sponsored by the governing body; (5) information regarding a social, ceremonial, or community event organized or sponsored by an entity other than the PVEDC that was attend or is scheduled to be attended by a member of the governing body or an official or employee of the PVEDC; and, (6) announcements involving an imminent threat to the public health and safety of people in the political subdivision that has arisen after the posting of the agenda Items for Future Agendas Any items the directors wish to have placed on the following regular agenda or request for a special meeting ADJOURN Executive Session: The Prairie View Economic Development Corporation 4-B reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session at any time during the course of the meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized by Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney), 551.072 (Deliberations about Real Property), 551.073 (Deliberations about Gifts and Donations), 551.074 (Personnel Matters), 551.076 (Deliberations about Security Devices), 551.086 (Economic Development).
