David Allen, Mayor Kendric Jones, Council Member Position 3 Brian Rowland, Council Member Position 1 Wendy Williams, Council Member Position 4 Jonathon Randle, Council Member Position 2 Xante’ Wallace, Council Member Position 5 CITY OF PRAIRIE VIEW www.prairieviewtexas.gov In accordance with order of the Office of the Governor issued March 16, 2020, in order to advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings (also called “social distancing”) to slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the City Council of the City of Prairie View, Texas will conduct an in-person meeting with as many City Council members physically present as possible. Some members of the City Council may participate by teleconference. For those City Council members and staff attending the meeting in-person, the City will use appropriate guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with respect to social distancing and utilizing additional hygiene controls. This Special City Council Meeting will be held at Prairie View City Hall, City Council Chamber, 44500 U.S. Business Highway 290, Prairie View, Texas, 77446, for the purpose of considering the following agenda items on Monday, November 16, 2020 starting at 6:00 p.m. The public may participate in this meeting by dialing in to the following number 1-571-317-3116_ Access Code_904-702-349. Anyone wishing to offer public comments may do so by notifying the City Secretary at least two hours prior to the meeting at abynum@prairieviewtexas.gov. A recording of the telephonic meeting will be made and will be available to the public in accordance with the Open Meetings Act upon written request. ___________________________________________ _________________________________ SPECIAL AGENDA Call to Order Invocation and Pledge Public Comments: Citizens who have signed up with the City Secretary, Allison Bynum at abynum@prairieviewtexas.gov at least 2 hours before the meeting will be recognized via teleconference. Comments will be limited to three (3) minutes. City Council will listen to the comments but cannot discuss or respond to the comments during the meeting. The matter may be referred to a department head, Mayor or City Council may direct that the matter be placed on the next regular City Council Agenda. 1 Resolutions 1. A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Prairie View, Texas, Canvassing the Returns and Declaring the Results of the General Election of the City of Prairie View held on November 3, 2020 for the Purpose of Electing the Mayor and Councilmembers for Place Numbers 4 And 5; Canvassing the Returns and Declaring the Results of the Special Election of the City of Prairie View held on November 3, 2020 for the Purpose of Electing the Councilmember for Place Number 3 and Approving a Measure to Reauthorize the Local Sales and Use Tax in Prairie View at the Rate of 1/4 Of 1% to Continue Providing Revenue for Maintenance and Repair of Municipal Streets (Proposition A) and Providing an Effective Date Other Action 2. Attendance by Other Elected or Appointed Officials: It is anticipated that members of other governmental bodies, and/or city boards, commissions and/or committees may attend the meeting in numbers that may constitute a quorum of the body, board, commission and/or committee. The members of the boards, commissions and/or committees may be permitted to participate in discussion on the same items listed on the agenda, which occur at the meeting, but no action will be taken by such in attendance unless item and action is specifically provided for on an agenda for that body, board, commission or committee subject to the Texas Open Meetings Act. 2
