Health and Safety Committee

CITY OF PRESCOTT, WISCONSIN MARCH 16, 2020 HEALTH & SAFETY COMMITTEE Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of Health & Safety Committee was held Monday, March 16, 2020, 800 Borner St., Prescott, WI 54021. Call to order/Roll Call: Meeting was called to order by Chair Josh Gergen. Members present were Maureen Otwell and Bailey Ruona. Also present Mayor David Hovel. City Administrator Jayne Brand represented staff. Hintz/Otwell motion to approve the minutes for February 10, 2020 passed without a negative voice vote. The committee discussed Prescott Daze. An opinion from City Attorney Phil Helgeson was reviewed. A memo from City Administrator Jayne Brand was reviewed. The committee asked Mayor Hovel if he had spoken with anyone from Prescott Daze since no one was present. Mayor Hovel indicated the Chamber is not willing to take on the event. There was discussion if the committee would like to create a non- profit committee. The Mayor also indicated there was no desire to create the non-profit. The committee wonders if there might be another non-profit in the city who might want to take on the event. Mayor and city staff will make inquires of these groups. Gergen/Ruona motion to table the decision on Prescott Daze until other non-profit committees can be contacted. Ruona/Otwell motion to adjourn passed without a negative voice vote.
