Personnel Committee

CITY OF PRESCOTT, WISCONSIN PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER 5, 2018 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the Personnel Committee was held September 5, 2018, 800 Borner St., Prescott, WI 54021. Call to order/Roll Call: Alderperson Maureen Otwell called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. Members present were Rob Daugherty and Dar Hintz. Public Works Employees Dennis Eaton and Mike Kinneman, Finance Director Vanessa Norby and City Administrator Jayne Brand represented staff. Hintz/Daugherty motion to approve the minutes for July 23, 2018 passed without a negative voice vote. The committee discussed the management positions for the Public Works Department. Mike Kinneman is handling streets, parks, stormwater and projects. Dennis Eaton is handling water, sewer and stormwater. City Administrator Jayne Brand is doing the zoning. Things have been working out well handling the public works department this way. The working foreman will be retiring in November. The request of the committee is to leave the positions as they are currently. There will not be a working foreman as both Mike and Dennis will continue to work out in the field. Job descriptions will need to be updated for all positions. Finance Director Vanessa Norby presented the nonunion wages to the personnel committee for their review. Otwell/Hintz motion to go into closed session per Wisconsin Stats. 19.85 (1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body had jurisdiction or exercises responsibility – public works management wages and police union contract passed without a negative voice vote. Daugherty/Hintz motion to come out of closed session passed without a negative voice vote. Daugherty/Hintz motion to adjourn passed without a negative voice vote. Respectfully Submitted, Jayne M.
