Neighborhood District Meeting Report Neighborhood District 4 __ Meeting Date _October 19, 2023______ __ File # ____________________ Meeting conducted by (name and title): Beth Hedengren, chair Number in attendance: approximately 15 people attended in person. There were also 7 people who joined via Zoom. All neighborhood district board members were present or joined via Zoom except Leah and Mel, who both asked to be excused. Agenda Items: Rachel reported the trees on Carterville Road got trimmed but is not sure by whom. School board member Lisa Boyce gave an update about the school board. • How to stay informed: weekly newsletter, etc. • Strategically planning has begun • Dixon property: August 2024 Shoreline will open. What to do with the property? • Input needed: school calendar and school start times • More info: Camp Big Springs and Shoreline Bus Routes • Q&A: Various questions about Dixon property, Grandview property, Safe Routes to School. Etc. Report from Beth and Lynn Sorenson about Neighborhood Leadership Activities • Rotary Park re-dedication • Stadium Sound and Light Pollution: have met with city and are collecting data Report from Beth about Grandview Lane/Jordon Avenue: Vern responded assertively to the report of a close call for a family using the crosswalk. Joseph Fuge and Dan Sumsion of YServe presented about their organization’s activities and specifically community clean-up Public Comment: Comment from Carterville Neighborhood about noise and possible speeding from cars on Saturday nights. Suggested that the neighbors call the police. Question about how to report metrics for sound and noise pollution emanating from the stadium.
