MINUTES OF THE
PULLMAN ARTS COMMISSION
June 30, 2026
A Regular Meeting of the Pullman Arts Commission was held on June 30, 2026 at 6:05 p.m. in the
Leonard and Edna Young Conference Room at Neill Public Library.
1. Call to Order – Kira MacPherson called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m. City Liaison Lori Lewis
was present.

B. Commissioner David Schneider motioned to approve the minutes of the May 26, 2026
Regular Meeting. Commissioner Darryl Singleton seconded the motion. Members voted
and the minutes were approved as submitted.
3. Regular Business
A. City Art Inventory/Site Plan –
i. Commissioner Kim indicated that she attempted to use the GIS, but found it
difficult, because it required her to enter information that she did not know. City
Liaison, Lori Lewis suggested that she enter unknown and/or N/A, and move to the
next field so that she can get the location and a description of the art piece.
ii. Commissioner Singleton was able to login on his desktop/laptop computer, but is
still having difficulty on the mobile app.
iii. City Liaison, Lori Lewis indicated that she had mapped all of the Library’s art
collection, and encouraged others to get out in the City to continue to map the art.
B. City Comprehensive Plan
i. At the last meeting Assistant City Planner Ariel Medeiros reviewed the Arts
Commissions information in the Comprehensive Plan. City Liaison, Lori will email
the clean draft to all commissioners again.
ii. Commissioners did not have any additional changes at this time, but will continue
to review the plan before it goes to public hearings.

C. Project Updates
i. Commissioner Schneider has been sending emails to the contact for the project
but has not gotten any response yet.
ii. Commissioner Schneider will follow up with JJ Martin at the Chamber to see if they
are still planning to attempt to bring the artist in for the Lentil Festival.
D. Rotating Art Exhibit at City Hall
i. Commissioner MacPherson will work with Commissioner Greystone to see if they
can make progress on the rubric for judging the art to determine what will be
accepted for exhibition.
ii. Commissioner MacPherson will also work on looking into a smaller hanging system
checking with the Whitman County Library.
iii. Commissioner Singleton will look into the cost of screens for viewing performing
arts.
4. New Business
A. New Business from any member of the Pullman Arts Commission
i. City Liaison, Lori Lewis reminded the Commission that she would not be present
for the August meeting. Commissioner Singleton motioned to cancel the meeting
in August. Commissioner Anderson seconded the motion. All members voted and
the motion carried.
ii. Commissioner MacPherson mentioned that the museum at WSU will have three
exhibitions opening on August 25th centered around nature, eco-systems and
humans and the environment. Also, in January, there will be an exhibition in
collaboration with the children of the Colville Tribes.
iii. Commissioner MacPherson also mentioned that starting in 2027, they will begin
Arts First Thursdays from 4pm to 7pm. Hosted in collaboration with local
businesses, you can tour the galleries while tasting food and drink from the
business sponsoring that night.

5. Adjournment: Commissioner Schneider moved to adjourn; Commissioner Singleton seconded the
motion. All voted and the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
