VILLAGE BOARD MEETING Thursday, August 10, 2023 6:30 pm Minutes 1. Call to order The monthly meeting of the Reedsville Village Board was called to order on August 10, 2023, at 6:30 PM by Village President Al Schreiber. 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Roll call Present were: Becca Fox, Terry Hansen, Jennifer Maertz, Chad Rataichek, Jack Siebert Also present: Craig Schuh, Tanner Raddatz 4. Approval of Agenda A motion was made by Siebert and seconded by Hansen to amend the agenda to add 4 more operator’s license applications to the discussion/possible decision on operator’s licenses. Motion carried 5-0. 5. Public Appearances a. Public Input: none b. Visitors: none 6. Approval of Minutes: • A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Fox to approve the July 13, 2023 meeting minutes. Motion carried 4-0 (Siebert abstained). • A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Hansen to approve the July 20, 2023 meeting minutes. Motion carried 5-0. 7. Treasurer’s Reports/Bills A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Fox to approve payroll in the amount of $18,678.08 and the accounts payable in the amount of $274,617.66. Motion carried 5-0. 8. Correspondence a. Valders Ambulance Service Report – July 2023 b. A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Fox to approve Ray Bubolz request to spray weeds on cropland. Motion carried 5-0. c. The board requests more information on the curb cutout application 9. Department Reports a. Fire Department Fire Chief Jason Schuh submitted a written report. ➢ 2023 July – 7 Calls Yearly Total – 40 b. First Responders First Responders President, Marco Morales, submitted a written report. ➢ 2023 July – 19 Calls Yearly Total – 87 1 i. A motion was made by Fox and seconded by Siebert to approve the Dakota Downey first responder application pending physical and background check. Motion carried 5-0. c. Clerk-Treasurer – Mary Jo Krahn i. Introduced by Fox, a motion was made by Hansen and seconded by Rataichek to approve Ordinance NO 2023-24 To Amend Ordinances of the Reedsville Village Code. Motion carried 5-0. ii. A motion was made by Siebert and seconded by Rataichek to approve the operator’s license applications for Laura Reinke, Susan Miller, Owen Lazo, Jason Loewe, LaDonna Crooker, and Kira Koch. Motion carried 5-0. iii. A motion was made by Maertz and seconded by Fox to approve the 2,000-credit plan proposal from Simple Texting in the amount of $878.40 annually. Motion carried 5-0. iv. Krahn informed the board of a poll worker resignation d. President Report – Al Schreiber i. Schreiber updated the board on Hardball discussions will be starting with the School District ii. There has been no letter of interest at this time for the vacant trustee position, discussion/possible decision is postponed until the next regular scheduled village board meeting. e. Police Department Police Chief, Kirk Schend, submitted a written report. i. Schend let the board know the property located at 116 N 7th St has been demolished f. Public Works / Utility Department Public Works Director Jason Maertz submitted a written report. i. C. Schuh gave update on WWTP Facility Plan ii. C. Schuh gave update on Well #3 project. iii. A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Siebert to send 2 employees to the Wisconsin Rural Water Association Expo. Motion carried 5-0. iv. A motion was made by Maertz and seconded by Fox to approve the USDA pay request #12 in the amount of $10,500. Motion carried 5-0. 10. At 7:35 pm, a motion was made by Siebert and seconded by Hansen to convene into CLOSED SESSION, Pursuant to WI Statute Section 19.85(1)(c) to conduct business which requires a closed session to consider performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction of exercises responsibility. Motion carried 5-0. 11. At 8:20pm, a motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Fox to reconvene into OPEN SESSION. Motion carried 5-0. 12. Upcoming Meetings: a. 2024 Proposed Budget meeting will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 6:30pm b. The next regular monthly meeting will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 6:00pm 13. Adjournment: A motion was made by Siebert and seconded by Fox to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM.
