1. Call to order
The monthly meeting of the Reedsville Village Board was called to order on Monday, September 11, 2023,
at 6:00 PM by Village President Al Schreiber.
2. Pledge of Allegiance
3. Roll call
Present were: Becca Fox (Arrived at 6:40pm), Terry Hansen, Jennifer Maertz, Chad Rataichek, Jack Siebert
Also present: Craig Schuh, Tanner Raddatz, Andy Bubolz, John Schwahn, Mike Nate, Chuck Yohanek
4. Approval of Agenda
A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Hansen to approve the agenda as presented. Motion
carried 4-0.
5. Public Appearances
a. Public Input: Andy Bubolz spoke about his interest in the trustee position
b. Visitors: none
6. Approval of Minutes:
• A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Hansen to approve the August 10, 2023 meeting
minutes. Motion carried 4-0.
• A motion was made by Maertz and seconded by Siebert to approve the August 17, 2023 meeting
minutes. Motion carried 4-0.
• A motion was made by Maertz and seconded by Hansen to approve the August 29, 2023 meeting
minutes. Motion carried 4-0.
7. Treasurer’s Reports/Bills
A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Hansen to approve payroll in the amount of $17,815.17
and the accounts payable in the amount of $126,965.19. Motion carried 4-0.
8. Correspondence
a. Valders Ambulance Service Report – August 2023
b. The board requests more information regarding the curb out application from Ray Bubolz, such as
who is the property owner of the current entrance to the crops and if an easement is possible.
9. Department Reports
a. Fire Department
Fire Chief Jason Schuh submitted a written report.
➢ 2023 August – 5 Calls Yearly Total – 45
b. First Responders
First Responders President, Marco Morales, submitted a written report.

c. Clerk-Treasurer – Mary Jo Krahn
i. A motion was made by Siebert and seconded by Rataichek to have Trick or Treating on Sunday,
October 29th, 2023, 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Motion carried 4-0.
ii. A motion was made by Hansen and seconded by Siebert to approve the Collins State bank loan
proposal in the amount of $131,000. Motion carried 4-0.
iii. A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Maertz to send out a request for 2024
proposals for Assessors. Motion carried 4-0.
iv. A motion was made by Hansen and seconded by Rataichek to send out a request for 2024
proposals for Building Inspectors. Motion carried 4-0.
d. President Report – Al Schreiber
i. Schreiber gave update on the Hardball Field discussions with the Reedsville School District.
Some members of the school board were present to answer any questions from the Village
Board.
ii. A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Siebert to appoint Andy Bubolz as a Village
Trustee for the remainder of the term. Term ends in April 2025. Motion carried 4-0.
e. Police Department
Police Chief, Kirk Schend, submitted a written report.
i. The discussion/possible decision on the 2024 Brillion/Reedsville Law Enforcement Agreement
has been postponed until the next regular scheduled village board meeting.
f. Public Works / Utility Department
Public Works Director Jason Maertz submitted a written report. Tanner Raddatz presents on behalf of
Jason Maertz.
i. A motion was made by Hansen and seconded by Siebert to sell old Hustler lawn mower for
$300. Motion carried 5-0.
ii. Following a discussion, Krahn will reach out to the Krueger family who donated the Christmas
decorations.
iii. Following a discussion, the board requests Ja Maertz to provide quotes for purchasing village
shirts.
iv. C. Schuh gave update on WWTP Facility Plan
v. C. Schuh gave update on Well #3 project.
10. Upcoming Meetings:
a. Budget meeting will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 6:00pm
b. The next regular monthly meeting will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 6:00pm
c. Manitowoc County Village Assoc. meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at
5:30pm in Francis Creek.
11. Adjournment: A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Hansen to adjourn the meeting. Motion
carried 5-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:33 PM.
