VILLAGE OF REEDSVILLE BOARD MEETING Monday, October 9, 2023 6:00 pm Minutes 1. Call to order The monthly meeting of the Reedsville Village Board was called to order on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 6:10 PM by Village President Al Schreiber. 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Roll call Present were: Becca Fox (Arrived at 6:10pm), Terry Hansen (by phone), Jennifer Maertz, Chad Rataichek, Andy Bubolz Absent: Jack Siebert Also present: Craig Schuh 4. Approval of Agenda A motion was made by Maertz and seconded by Fox to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 5- 0. 5. Public Appearances a. Public Input: none b. Visitors: none 6. Approval of Minutes: • A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Maertz to approve the September 11, 2023 meeting minutes. Motion carried 5-0. • A motion was made by Maertz and seconded by Fox to approve the September 14, 2023 meeting minutes. Motion carried 5-0. • A motion was made by Bubolz and seconded by Maertz to approve the October 9, 2023 meeting minutes. Motion carried 5-0. 7. Treasurer’s Reports/Bills A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Maertz to approve payroll in the amount of $73,006.79 and the accounts payable in the amount of $250,793.80. Motion carried 5-0. 8. Correspondence a. Valders Ambulance Service Report – September 2023 • Maertz will reach out to Valders regarding number of calls for Park Estates b. The discussion/possible decision on the curb out request from Ray Bubolz has been postponed until the next regular village board meeting. 1 9. Department Reports a. Fire Department Fire Chief Jason Schuh submitted a written report. ➢ 2023 September – 5 Calls Yearly Total – 50 b. First Responders First Responders President, Marco Morales, submitted a written report. (not present) ➢ 2023 September – 15 Calls Yearly Total – 117 c. Clerk-Treasurer – Mary Jo Krahn i. A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Fox to approve the Class B liquor and beer license for Copper Sky Steakhouse. Motion carried 5-0. ii. A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Bubolz to approve the Class A liquor and beer license for Dollar General. Motion carried 5-0. iii. A motion was made by Fox and seconded by Rataichek to approve the Tobacco license for Dollar General. Motion carried 5-0. iv. Following a discussion, the board determined there was no specific documentation for the village to replace a tree at 104 2nd Street. v. A motion was made by Maertz and seconded by Fox to approve the 9-month interim financing proposal from Collins State Bank in the amount of $750,000. Motion carried 5-0. vi. A motion was made by Maertz and seconded by Fox to approve Tennessen Appraisal proposal in the amount of $4,500 annually. Motion carried 5-0. vii. The discussion/possible decision on building inspector proposals has been postponed until the next regular scheduled village board meeting. There were no proposals submitted at this time. d. President Report – Al Schreiber i. Schreiber and Maertz gave an update on the Hardball Field. ii. Schreiber gave an update on the Hwy 10 & W intersection concern iii. The discussion/possible decision to create a sub-committee has been postponed until the next regular scheduled village board meeting. e. Police Department Police Chief, Kirk Schend, submitted a written report. i. The discussion/possible decision on the 2024 Brillion/Reedsville Law Enforcement Agreement has been postponed until the next regular scheduled village board meeting. f. Public Works / Utility Department Public Works Director Jason Maertz submitted a written report. i. A motion was made by Bubolz and seconded by Rataichek to donate the Christmas wreaths to anyone interested. Motion carried 5-0. ii. The discussion/possible decision on purchasing village shirts has been postponed until the next regular scheduled village board meeting. iii. The discussion/possible decision on a plow truck has been postponed until the next regular scheduled village board meeting. iv. C. Schuh gave update on WWTP Facility Plan i. DNR reviewed the plan and provided comments v. C. Schuh gave update on Well #3 project. i. Plans are approved by DNR, and waiting on funding list from the DNR 2 10. Upcoming Meetings: a. Budget meeting will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 6:30pm b. The next regular monthly meeting will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 6:00pm c. Manitowoc County Village Assoc. meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 5:30pm in Kellnersville. 11. Adjournment: A motion was made by Rataichek and seconded by Fox to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM.
