Ross Township Planning July 26, 2021 6:00 – 8:00 PM Commission Meeting Ross Township Hall Agenda 1. Call Meeting to Order; Pledge Jim Lauderdale 6:00-6:02 2. Unfinished Business 1) Master Plan. Planning Commission members 6:10-7:30 agreed to review the Master Plan goals/objectives outlined in Section VI to identify those of highest interest/impact to help focus and guide the conduct of the Technical Review. Goal 1 was reviewed at the June 28, 2021 PC meeting. Review will continue for Goals 2 through 10. 2) Master Plan, Section VIII, Plans, Policies and Ordinances. Address the "fence" definition as related to sight lines-- should it be restricted to properties whose "front side" is a lake side (Section 17.3) or other revision(s)? Planning Commission members agreed to continue to think about the issues raised and suggested solutions . . and to keep the matter as a priority item on the Work Plan. 7. Report: Township Board Board representative-Mike Bekes 7:30-7:40 8. Report: ZBA ZBA met July 7, 2021. 1) Approved a street side 7:40-7:45 set back of 3ft (Article 15 setback of ft) consistent with findings of Section 23.8. A. 1-6. 2) Received (six page letter dated July 6. 2021 and approximately 50 pages of supporting information) the "Appeal: Property Located at 2878 Burlington Drive, Ross Township, Parcel #3904-08-315-090" from Honigman, J. Patrick Lennon representing. Due to there being one day between the date on the letter (July6, 2021) and the date of the ZBA (July 7, 2021) not allowing sufficient time for careful review, the at least five legal citations in the letter, and a member of the Carr team stating publically that ZBA members were hearing the appeal illegally based on MI law, the ZBA requested Attorney Thall provide to ZBA members his legal opinion regarding the issues. Upon receipt of Attorney Thall's legal opinion, the ZBA will address the appeal. 9. Public Comment Public 7:45-7:55 10. Members, Consultants, 7:55-8:00 Advisers 11.
