Training will begin next month with Cliff Morgan, a retired sheriff K-9 handler. A thank you was extended to Nick Yelencich for volunteering to be Axe’s handler. Consideration of Special Event Request/RAHGS Heritage Festival/Special Event Request/Mobile Food Vendor Motion by Reindel, seconded by Allen, to approve the RAHGS special event request for the Richmond Heritage Festival, in conjunction with Log Cabin Day on Saturday, June 29th from 10am-4pm and Sunday, June 30th from 12pm-4pm; along with the closure of Park Street from Stone to Beebe Street and Beebe Street from Pool Drive to Festival Drive for both days. All yeas Motion passes CCM: 02/19/2024 Page 2 of 5  APPROVED 03/04/2024 Motion by Allen, seconded by Schultz, to approve the request from RAHGS to have an across the road banner in conjunction with their Heritage Festival to be display Saturday, June 15th through Saturday, June 30th, 2024. All yeas Motion passes Motion by LaFore, seconded by Misteravich, to approve the RAHGS request to allow up to two (2) temporary 4’ x 4’ signs to be placed at the corner of Beebe St. and Division and at the Trailhead Park near the circle from Thursday morning, June 27th until Sunday evening, June 30th. They will be placed far enough off the street so as not to obstruct traffic visibility. All yeas Motion passes Motion by Schultz, seconded by Warn, to approve the Special Event Request for a mobile food vendor, Jerky Shack, for the RAHGS Heritage Festival on Saturday, June 29th from 10am to 4pm, and Sunday, June 30th from 12 noon to 4pm. All yeas Motion passes 2. Consideration of Approving a Special Event Request for Mobile Food Vendor – Richmond Little League Moved by Reindel, seconded by Warn, to approve a Special Event Request from Richmond Little League to have two (2) Mobile Food Vendors, Kona Ice and Bubba’s BBQ for their Blue Devil State Tournament, from Saturday, June 8th through Sunday, June 9th. All yeas Motion passes 3. Consideration of Special Event Request/White Cane Sale/Richmond Lions Motion by Allen, seconded by Schultz, to approve the request received from the Richmond Lion’s Club to conduct their White Cane Sale, at the intersections of Main/Division and County Line Road/St. Clair Highway (City side) on Friday, April 26th and Saturday, April 27th, 2024, further, the Lion’s Club agree not to be in the Main/Division intersection on Friday, April 26th, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and further that the Lion’s agree to sign a Liability Waiver. Consideration of Authorization/ Repairs/2008 International Dump Truck DPW Director Goetzinger provided background information for the need to replace the engine. Motion by Schultz, seconded by Warn, to waive purchasing ordinance requirements due to Section 64-53(a) and to authorize the expense of $43,955.13 for repairs to the City’s 2008 International Dump Truck by C&S Motors with funds charged to the appropriate line item (101.442.778.000), General Fund; DPW; Equipment Maintenance. Discussion on motion: Councilor LaFore, whom has experience with these types of issues, indicated the expense is not out of line and that it happens often. A roll call vote was taken: All Ayes (LaFore, Misteravich, Reindel, Rix, Schultz, Warn, Allen) Motion passes MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS FROM THE CITY MANAGER Moore will be out of the office Tuesday afternoon. COUNCIL COMMENTS Rix - Thanked the RPOA for a nice event this past weekend Upcoming Calendar events: 2/17-2/25 Early Voting from 8:30am-4:30pm at City Hall 3/4 City Council Meeting at 7pm Reminder of Special events: 2/26 Youth Corn Hole (5 week session) at the Aud Now-5/22 Beginning yoga (Monday/Wednesdays) at the Community Center Now – 4/11 Hall Walking (Tues/Wed/Thurs from 6pm-8pm) at Lee Elementary Richmond’s Cable Department has a new weekly show highlighting local events.
