Minutes of Special Meeting The Special Meeting of Saturday, January 25, 2020 BE IT KNOWN THAT, a Special Meeting of the Special Meeting of City of Richwood was held Saturday, January 25, 2020, beginning at 8:30 AM in the Richwood City Hall, 1800 N. Brazosport Blvd. Richwood, Texas. I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 8:37 a.m. II. ROLL CALL OF COUNCIL MEMBERS Steve Boykin, Mayor Mike Johnson, Position 1 Melissa Strawn, Position 2 Matthew Yarborough, Position 3 Mark Brown II, Position 4 Katie Johnson, Position 5 Others present: Kirsten Garcia, City Secretary; Chris Hartung, Consultant III. PUBLIC COMMENTS All commends will be subject to the following rules: All speakers will be permitted to speak not longer than 3 minutes; all speakers will only be permitted to speak once; speakers cannot defer their 3 minutes to another speaker. Discussion is not allowed on items no posted on the agenda. There were no public comments. IV. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.074, Government Code, Personnel Matters to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee; or to hear a complaint against an officer or employee: City Manager Candidate Interviews 1. Council Orientation 2. City Manager Candidates Interviews 3. Lunch with Candidates 4. Discussion Regarding Candidates Recessed at 8:40 a.m.  Reconvened at 1:50 p.m. B. Action as a result of executive session On a motion by Matthew Yarborough, second by Mark Brown II, with all present members voting aye, Chris Hartung was authorized to extend an offer of employment, contingent on City Attorney approval of contract terms. V. COUNCIL MEMBER COMMENTS & REPORTS Council wishes reschedule February’s regular meeting date to the 24th of February. Mark Brown II commended the police department for the hours they have put in and the great work they are doing to deter the frequent burglaries in the area. VI. MAYOR’S REPORT No Report VII.
