Minutes of the City Council The City Council called Meeting of August 2, 2021 BE IT KNOWN THAT, a City Council of City of Richwood was held August 2, 2021, beginning at 6:00 PM PM in the Richwood City Hall, located at 1800 Brazosport Blvd. N, Richwood, Texas 77531. I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. II. ROLL CALL OF COUNCIL MEMBERS Steve Boykin, Mayor: Present Mike Johnson, Position 1: Present Melissa Strawn, Position 2: Present Matthew Yarborough, Position 3: Present Rory Escalante, Position 4: Present Mark Brown II, Position 5: Absent Others in attendance: Eric Foerster, City Manager; Kirsten Garcia, City Secretary; Tricia Ditto, Finance Director; Clif Custer, Public Works Director; Philip Knop, City Attorney. III. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no public comments. IV. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Discuss and consider approving the City Manager to enter into agreemetn with the City of Lake Jackson to provide dispatch services for the amounts listed in the agreement. Eric presented. Discussion held on possibilities of other cities available as options for dispatch services. Motion to approve the City Manager to enter into agreement with the City of Lake Jackson to provide dispatch services for the amounts listed in the agreement. This motion, made by Rory Escalante and seconded by Melissa Strawn, Passed. Yea: 4, Nay: 0 V. FY 2022 BUDGET WORKSHOP A. Discussion of FY 21-22 Proposed Budget Eric Foerster and Tricia Ditto presented. Discussion held on reasons for cuts in the utility budget. 1 Discussion held on supplemental request for Public Works and Keep Richwood Beautiful. VI. COUNCIL MEMBER COMMENTS & REPORTS Mike Johnson expressed appreciation to Staff for all the work on the budget and budget prep. Matt Yarborough thanked staff for the same. VII. MAYOR’S REPORT Mayor Boykin expressed appreciation to staff for streamlining and making the budget process easier. He also gave a weather update and advised everyone to stay prepared for hurricane season and advise staff if we know of any residents who need assistance during emergencies. VIII. AGENDA BE IT KNOWN THAT, a City of Richwood City Council will meet Monday, August 2, 2021, beginning at 6:00 PM via web/telephone conference with the following agenda: SUPPLEMENTAL NOTICE OF MEETING BY TELEPHONE/WEB CONFERENCE In accordance with the order of the Office of the Governor issued March 16, 2020, the City Council of Richwood will conduct the meeting schedule at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021 via web and telephone conference in order to advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings (also called "social distancing") to slow the spread of Coronavirus(COVID 19). The meeting agenda is posted online at www.richwoodtx.gov.
