STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF BRAZORIA CITY OF RICHWOOD BE IT KNOWN, that the CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT BOARD met on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. in Regular Session at Richwood City Hall in Council Chambers located at 1800 N. Brazosport Boulevard, Richwood, TX 77531 CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Brian Allen, presiding officer. ROLL CALL OF BOARD MEMBERS Roll call showed the following members present: Brian Allen Justin Gatlin Randy Accord Kat Venegas A quorum was declared. Others present included Bryan Corb, Police Chief; and Giani Cantu, City Secretary. ANYONE WISHING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD There were no comments. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MINUTES On motion by Randy Accord, seconded by Ms. Katherine Venegas, with all members present voting aye, the minutes of April 18, 2017 were approved as presented. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS Account Review Giani Cantu reported on the remaining budget. Consider rollover of excess funds to the fiscal year 2017-2018 budget No discussion on this item. Consider items to include in fiscal year 2017-2018 budget Chief Corb presented the following proposed budget Account # Description Budgeted Amount 15-60- CCPD $109,607 Description Amount Notes Warrant Officer $30,000.00 Approved last year and currently working for the PD COPS Grant $34,250 (2) officers for 3 years (paying 25% of total Officers amount as grant funds will pay 75%) Police Vehicle $50,000.00 Replacement vehicle-includes equipment Speed Recorder $2,745.00 Will be used to help in collecting traffic data such as Speeds, number of vehicles in any given area, times, etc. Total $ 116,995.00 Budgeted $ 109,607.00 Net Total $ 7,388.00 Instead of doing a rollover the recommendation is to allow excess funds to return to fund balance and just increase the proposed budget. On motion by Justin Gatlin second by Randy Accord with all present members voting “aye” any remaining funds will be returned to fund balance. Further discussion was held on the proposed police officer positions and on the past activity of the warrant officer. There were no other recommendations at this time. However, in the future there may be a need to bring back improvements to the security system. On motion by Justin Gatlin second by Randy Accord with all present members voting “aye” the fiscal year 2017-2018 budget was approved as presented. Set next meeting date and time The next meeting was set for August 24, 2017 at 6pm. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS No items at this time. ADJOURNMENT On motion by Randy Accord second by Justin Gatlin and there being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:23 pm.
