Amendment to fiscal year 2016-2017 budget to transfer an amount not to exceed $35,000 from
Equipment to Vehicles for the purchase of a police vehicle
Chief Corb reported that the Police Department has the opportunity to purchase a 2016 Ford
Expedition fully outfitted demo with only 11,000 miles at a great price. The request for the
amount would also include transferring of the radios and computer equipment.
On motion by Mr. Day second by Mr. Acorn, with all present members voting “aye” the budget
transfer in an amount not to exceed $35,000 was approved.
Consider items to include in fiscal year 2017-2018 budget
Chief Corb reported staff items are due by May 12th. He would like to request that the board
consider another vehicle and continue to fund the warrant officer. In the new budget, he’d also
like to see paid reserve officers, video equipment relocated and security cameras in the parking
lot.
Mr. Day asked if a dispatcher would be possible.
Chief Corb reported that the police department already has the equipment and software and has
requested the staff positions in the new budget.
Mr. Day asked if the board could cover half the expense would it help it get approved in budget.
Mr. Coon reported that its highest probability of approval will depend on the cops grant. CCPD
could potentially fund 20% of the cost for a three year period then the position could roll over to
the General Fund.
Chief Corb stated everything is in place, the only thing missing is staff.
