MINUTES KEEP RICHWOOD BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION MEETING Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 6:00 PM BE IT KNOWN THAT a City of Richwood Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission will meet Tuesday, September 20, 2022 beginning at 6:00 PM at Richwood City Hall, located at 1800 Brazosport Blvd. N., Richwood, Texas 77531 with the following agenda: I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. II. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS PRESENT Audrey Johnson Becky Thompson Sonia Foger Janet Ellis Jeremy Fountain Lindsie Yearsin Amanda Reynolds III. PUBLIC COMMENTS There was no public comment. IV. CONSENT AGENDA A. Approval of minutes from regular meeting held August 2, 2022 Motion to approve consent agenda. Motion made by Becky Thompson, Seconded by Sonia Foger. Voting Yea: Audrey Johnson, Becky Thompson, Sonia Foger, Janet Ellis, Jeremy Fountain, Lindsie Yearsin, Amanda Reynolds Motion Carried. V. REPORT ON RECENT EVENTS A. Garden Workday Kimberly reported that the raised beds were prepared for the fall planting. She advised she has started to seed various vegetables and flowers. VI. UPCOMING EVENTS A. National Night Out October 4, 2022 Kimberly requested assistance with volunteers, she will update everyone on exact times. KRB will have a table with educational handouts.  B. Trunk or Treat October 28, 2022 Discussion held on other events being held at Polk and Lake Jackson and whether or not to change the date. Arrive at 5:15 p.m. Also need to decide when we would like to set up the hay bales. Anyone who would like to help, please arrive at 4:00 p.m. C. Dinner in the Garden Dinner in the garden cancelled. VII. YARD OF THE MONTH No yard of the month. Will move on to October’s Spookiest Yard of the Month VIII. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Discussion and possible action regarding Keep Richwood Beautiful By Laws and Member Responsibilities. Kimberly reviewed the attendance policy. She requested guidance on requesting attendance for events, stated that they are a small group and need everyone around to get things done. No discussion held. B. Discussion and possible action on prospective projects with GCAA funds. Kimberly advised she has reached out the TXDOT liaison. Has a teams meeting with him on October 3rd. Will have follow up at our October meeting. C. Discussion and possible action regarding Larry Johnson Park upgrades. Need to figure out when we would like to do phase 1 - placing weed barrier, mulch and border around the space for the playground. Rescheduled to October 1 - phase one - 8am Phase 2 October 22 – 8a-12p Phase 3 - Nov 5 – 8a-10a Phase 4 - Dec 3 - ceremony rededication Fall sweep - roll off to be scheduled for October 22 IX. FINANCIAL REPORT A. KRB Budget Report, YTD B. Parks Budget Report, YTD Kimberly presented the budget reports. X. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT Kimberly updated the produce donation, stated we may reach out goal. Expressed appreciation for members and residents who have helped out at the Garden. Stated the things that were just planted are covered in aphids, need to get over there and spray. Apple tree died and both pear and mulberry have a fungus on them. Kimbelry advised she is happy to teach anyone interested in learning how to care for the plants and trees. XI. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST Jeff Bevers fixed the rain barrels Shoutout to everyone who's helped water and take care of the garden. XII. SET NEXT MEETING DATE October 5, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. XIII. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Dedicated a park bench to anyone on KRB that has passed away - and would like one for Garry. GCAA updates XIV.
