MINUTES KEEP RICHWOOD BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION MEETING Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 6:00 PM BE IT KNOWN THAT a City of Richwood Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission will meet Tuesday, July 11, 2023, beginning at 6:00 PM at Richwood City Hall, located at 1800 Brazosport Blvd. N., Richwood, Texas 77531 with the following agenda: I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. II. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS Janet Ellis Present Amanda Reynolds Present Amanda Seymour Present Leslie Klug Present Karl Klug Present Lindsie Yearsin Present William Yearsin Present Tracy Bocanegra Absent Others present: Kimberly Mayer, Executive Director; Kirsten Garcia, City Secretary; Amanda Reynolds, City Council Liaison. III. PUBLIC COMMENTS There was no public comment. IV. CONSENT AGENDA A. Approval of minutes from regular meeting held May 2, 2023. B. Approval of minutes from regular meeting held June 6, 2023. Motion to approve consent agenda. Motion made by Leslie Klug, Seconded by Amanda Seymour. Voting Yea: Janet Ellis, Lindsie Yearsin, Amanda Seymour, Karl Klug, Leslie Klug, William Yearsin V. REPORT ON RECENT EVENTS A. Keep Texas Beautiful Conference, June 26-28, 2023 Leslie Klug and Amanda Reynolds reported on what they learned during the conference. Leslie reported that she spoke with someone at the Pearland recycling center and they wil take OLQP recycling if needed. Amanda reported that she took a course on textile recycling and there is a company that offers a service we could look into. Amanda stated any efforts to raise money would need the whole committees assistance in fundraising. Both Amanda and Leslie will follow up with a report on their training. B. All America Night - July 1, 2023 Kimberly Mayer reported on All America night, stated we had a great turn out, plenty of volunteers.  She advised the PD expressed thanks for the help. VI. UPCOMING EVENTS A. Larry Johnson Park Upgrades, Phase 3 - July 22, 2023 Will Yearsin reported that the committee will start in the morning, take a break and come back when it cools off. VII. YARD OF THE MONTH A. July, 2023 - Davidson Slater Amanda Seymour stated she will pick a home. VIII. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Appoint board officers for 2023. 1. President 2. Treasurer 3. Secretary 4. Executive Director Board held discussion regarding Executive Director position. The board would like to recommend Leslie to the ED position. Motion to nominate Lindsay for President. Motion made by Leslie Klug, Seconded by Amanda Seymour. No action taken; the committee requested to table until all members are present. B. Discuss and consider adopting the FY 2024 budget. Discussion held on areas to cut costs regarding landscaping. Motion to adopt FY 24 budget as presented. Motion made by Karl Klug, Seconded by William Yearsin. Voting Yea: Janet Ellis, Lindsie Yearsin, Amanda Seymour, Karl Klug, Leslie Klug, William Yearsin C. Discussion and possible action regarding park bench dedication for Garry Ellis. Discussion held on location and type of bench. Leslie will follow up on ordering and placement. D. Discussion and possible action regarding fundraising ideas. Kimberly recommended Grow cut flowers and sell bouquets. Discussion held on raised bed adoptions. Discussion held on haunted trail. Discussion held on bake sale or cake walk. Discussion held on grow container fundraiser. Discussion held on Pumpkin patch. IX. FINANCIAL REPORT A. Keep Richwood Beautiful Budget Report B. Parks and Recreation Budget Report Kimberly gave financial reports. X. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT Kimberly gave information for after resignation. Running produce total of 289 pounds for donation. Outstanding projects : finish the park, GCAA award, keep up with GCAA reporting. She also advised the offer always stands that she will come present on behalf of the AgriLife extension. XI.
