MINUTES KEEP RICHWOOD BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION MEETING Tuesday, February 06, 2024 at 6:00 PM BE IT KNOWN THAT a City of Richwood Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission will meet Tuesday, February 6, 2024, beginning at 6:00 PM at Richwood City Hall, located at 1800 Brazosport Blvd. N., Richwood, Texas 77531 with the following agenda: I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. II. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS PRESENT Karl Klug Tracy Bocanegra Kai York ABSENT Denise York III. PUBLIC COMMENTS There was no public comment. IV. CONSENT AGENDA A. Approval of minutes from regular meeting held January 2, 2024. Motion to approve consent agenda. Motion made by Karl Klug. Voting Yea: Karl Klug, Tracy Bocanegra, Kai York V. UPCOMING EVENTS A. Easter Egg Hunt Discussion held on quotes for eggs. Discussion held on prizes and age groups. Discussion held on using grocery bags for eggs in case of rain. The board wanted to purchase 13,000 eggs. Leslie requested a budget of $2,000 for the event. Motion to approve a budget of $2000 for the event. Motion made by Kai York, Seconded by Karl Klug. Voting Yea: Karl Klug, Tracy Bocanegra, Kai York Discussion held on dates for the event. Motion to hold it on March 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Motion made by Karl Klug, Seconded by Tracy Bocanegra. Voting Yea: Karl Klug, Tracy Bocanegra, Kai York  B. Great American Clean Up, March 1 - April 30 No discussion was held. C. Don't Mess with Texas Trash Off, April 1-30 April 6, 2023, for cleanup @ 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Will clean up alongside 288B, and will be meeting at City Hall Discussion held on ordering supplies. D. Earth Day, April 22 Discussion was held on possible plans. VI. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Review and discuss the Keep Richwood Beautiful member bylaws. Discussion held on current bylaws and clerical corrections. B. Discussion and possible action regarding Keep Richwood Beautiful's 5-year plan. Leslie presented the 5-year plan. Discussion held on attainable goals. Discussion held on current parks. Discussion held on murals and art installations. Discussion held on goals and future tasks. C. Discuss and consider project recommendations for Servolution volunteers. Leslie presented possible projects to clean up litter at Ellis Park and Bobby Ford Park. She stated that the servolution leader stated that it would be no problem. Sunday, March 3,9 am Kai stated he would be at Bobby Ford Park and Leslie at Ellis Park. D. Discuss and consider the Keep America Beautiful Litter Index. This will be skipped due to forgoing the KAB affiliation. E. Discuss and consider the status of the Governor's Community Achievement Award application. Leslie presented the status of the application.  F. Discuss and consider creating a subcommittee to focus on the Community Garden. Leslie presented information. Discussion held on the status of the community garden. No action was taken. G. Discuss and consider questions for the Annual Affiliate Report. Leslie presented. H. Discuss and consider services from the Green City Recyclers. Leslie presented. Leslie will send an email requesting information. VII. FINANCIAL REPORT A. Keep Richwood Beautiful Budget Report Discussion was held on areas of under-budgeting. B. Parks and Recreation Budget Report VIII. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT Leslie presented information regarding bench dedication for the Ellis'. KAB presidents circle IX. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST No report. X. SET NEXT MEETING DATE March 12, 2024. XI. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Kai’s presentation XII.
