Minutes of Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission The Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission Meeting of Tuesday, April 7, 2020 BE IT KNOWN THAT, a Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission Meeting of the Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission of City of Richwood was held Tuesday, April 7, 2020, beginning at 6:00 PM in the Richwood City Hall, 1800 N. Brazosport Blvd. Richwood, Texas. I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. II. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS Kimberly Mayer, Executive Director Brittany Figaro, Chairman Tara Riley, Vice Chairman Audrey Johnson Janet Jackson-Ellis – absent Others present: Kirsten Garcia, City Secretary III. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no public comments. IV. CONSENT AGENDA A. Approval of Minutes 1. Minutes from regular meeting held January 06, 2020 2. Minutes from regular meeting held February 4, 2020. 3. Minutes from meeting held March 3, 2020. On a motion by Audrey Johnson, second by Tara Riley, with all present members voting aye, the consent agenda was approved. V. REPORTS ON RECENT EVENTS A. March Clean Up - Waste Water Theme - March 28, 2020 Kimberly Mayer reported that all clean ups were postponed until the Fall due to COVID-19 B. Easter Egg Handout- April 4, 2020 VI. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Discussion and possible action on upcoming events 1. April Clean Up - Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off - April 18, 2020 Postponed until the fall. 2. May Clean Up - Parks - May 2, 2020 Postponed until the fall. 3. Earth Day - Week of April 22, 2020 Kimberly Mayer presented ideas of ways the committee could still keep the community engaged by posting videos of book readings or passing our Earth Day promotional items. No need for action, money was already allocated to Earth Day by vote at a prior meeting. B. Discussion and possible action regarding Bocce Ball at Larry Johnson Park Brittany Figaro stated she has been researching Bocce Ball courts for information on labor and materials needed. She stated she will prepare a presentation for the next meeting. C. Discussion and possible action regarding Community Garden Kimberly Mayer gave an update on Community Garden status and needs (see slideshow attached) Kimberly requested funding to purchase lunch for the Public Works Department for their help with the Community Garden. Audrey Johnson made a motion to supply Richwood Public Works Department with lunch for their work on the community garden, second by Tara Riley, with all present members voting aye, motion carries. D. Discuss and consider continuing subscription with ASCAP for movies in the park. Kimberly Mayer presented information on renewing the committee’s subscription with ASCAP. This subscription allows us to play movies for the public. Kim stated her recommendation was to not renew. Discussion held on costs and benefits. Tara Riley motioned that KRB does not renew ASCAP subscription, Audrey Johnson second with all present members voting aye, motion carries. E. Discuss and consider registration for the annual KTB Conference Kimberly stated the KTB conference was rescheduled for September. Discussion held on costs and who could attend. Kim, Brittany, Audrey, and Tara all intend on attending. F. Discussion and possible action regarding Farmers Market in partnership with Brazosport Cares - May 22, 2020 Kimberly reported the Farmers Market was still a go, they will have safety protocols in place. G. Discussion and possible action on Yard of the Month Brittany chose 713 Moore St. H. Discuss and set date/time for Budget Workshop. June 4th at 4:00 p.m. I. Discussion and possible action regarding opening a CD with fund from checking account to accrue interest Tabled for another meeting. VII. FINANCIAL REPORT Kirsten gave report. VIII. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT Kimberly reported on scenic city certification. IX. SET NEXT MEETING DATE May 5, 2020 X. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Banking CD Bocce Ball Farmers Market Community Grand Opening XI. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST Statements only. No discussion is allowed. XII. Brazosport Blvd., Richwood, TX 77531 at the Richwood City Hall in the Council Chambers with the following agenda: SUPPLEMENTAL NOTICE OF MEETING BY TELEPHONE CONFERENCE In accordance with the order of the Office of the Governor issued March 16, 2020, the Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission of Richwood will conduct the meeting scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 by telephone conference in order to advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings (also called "Social Distancing") to slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The meeting agenda and agenda packet are posted online at www.richwoodtx.gov The public dial-in number to participate in the telephonic meeting is 1(872) 240-3311 and enter access code 722-892-941. The public will be permitted to offer public comments telephonically as provided by the agenda and as permitted by the presiding officer during the meeting. A recording of telephonic meeting will be made and will be available to the public in accordance with the Open Meetings Act upon written request.
