Minutes of Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission The Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission Meeting of Tuesday, March 3, 2020 BE IT KNOWN THAT, a Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission Meeting of the Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission of City of Richwood was held Tuesday, March 3, 2020, beginning at 6:00 PM in the Richwood City Hall, 1800 N. Brazosport Blvd. Richwood, Texas. I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:13 p.m. II. INVOCATION Janet Jackson-Ellis led the invocation. III. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS Kimberly Mayerberly Mayer, Executive Director Brittany Figaro, Chairman Tara Riley, Vice Chairman Janet Jackson-Ellis Audrey Johnson Others present: Kirsten Garcia, City Secretary; Melissa Strawn, Council Liaison IV. PUBLIC COMMENTS There was no public comment. V. REPORTS ON RECENT EVENTS A. Servolution - March 1, 2020 Brittany Figaro reported on Servolution, stated the electrical junction box, exterior bathroom, and playground equipment were all painted. She added that Stephen Mayer finished the trim and public works will finish the bathrooms tomorrow. VI. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Discussion and possible action on upcoming events 1. Clean Ups - March, April, May March Clean Up – Water Waste Theme – March 28, 2020 – 10a-12p (meet at City Hall at 9:30am) Kimberly Mayerberly Mayer stated she has asked residents to register to gauge supplies needed. She added she has HEB volunteers coming to help. Event is registered with KTB and supplies are ordered. She stated we need a plan of action of how we want to go about it. She is asking for suggestions on how to get a good turnout. Kimberly Mayerberly Mayer added that that Clif has offered public work employees and trucks to help hit the most affected streets. (North Mahan and Moore) Discussion held on plan for the event. April – don’t mess with Texas trash off – April 18, 2020 – 10a-12p Kimberly Mayerberly Mayer stated she would like to hit 288B for trash and she will order yellow safety vests, she added that she will get with PD to see if anyone is available to help with traffic. This event is also registered with KTB Kimberly Mayerberly Mayer stated she would like to also look into ordering volunteer shirts and offer them to people who come out. The committee agreed on 50 shirts. May – Parks Clean Up – May 2nd, 2020 – 10a-12p Kimberly Mayerberly Mayer reported she is looking at possibly directing focus towards Larry Johnson Park. On a motion by Brittany Figaro, second by Janet Jackson-Ellis, with all present members voting aye, the committee approved the purchase of 20 safety vests, 10 trash grabbers, and 50 volunteer t-shirts. 2. Easter Egg Hunt – April 4th, 2020 Brittany Figaro stated she reached out to Yaklin Ford and they will continue their sponsorship for the event. Kimberly Mayerberly Mayer reported that the eggs are already in. Brittany Figaro stated the subcommittee is meeting on the 16th to talk more about the plan. 3. Earth Day - April 22, 2020 Brittany Figaro stated she will call the schools tomorrow and see what they will allow us to do for Earth Day. Tara stated to be sure everyone has passed the background. Kimberly Mayer stated she wants to get promo items to give out and request we set a budget. On a motion by Brittany Figaro, second by Audrey Johnson, with all present members voting aye, the committee set a budget of $200 for Earth Day supplies. Kimberly Mayer requested that anyone going to schools take pictures and get a number of kids. B. Discussion and possible action regarding Bocce Ball at Larry Johnson Park Tabled for April. VII. FINANCIAL REPORT Kimberly Mayer presented and reported that she and Tara will be meeting with Lindsay to discuss budget. VIII. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT Kimberly Mayer reported City Council has approved Community Garden. Groundbreaking is March 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Kimberly Mayer stated we are partnering with Brazosport Cares Food Pantry, we will be donating food from the garden to them. They also put on a free farmers market, we will host one here, May 22, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. IX. SET NEXT MEETING DATE April 7, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. X.
