Minutes of the Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission The Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission called Meeting of March 2, 2021 BE IT KNOWN THAT, a Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission of City of Richwood was held March 2, 2021, beginning at 6:00 PM PM in the Richwood City Hall, located at 1800 Brazosport Blvd. N, Richwood, Texas 77531. I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. II. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS Brittany Figaro: Present Sonia Foger: Present Janet Jackson-Ellis: Present Audrey Johnson: Absent Tara Riley: Absent Becky Thompson: Present Lindsie Yearsin: Present Also present: Kimberly Mayer, Executive Director; Melissa Strawn, City Council Liaison; and Kirsten Garcia, City Secretary. III. PUBLIC COMMENTS There was no public comment. IV. REPORT ON RECENT EVENTS A. Sevolution - February, 28, 2021 Kimberly reported it was a great turn out - there were a lot of volunteers and they got alot of work done. B. Water Distribution Kimberly reported the stats on the water distribution. V. UPCOMING EVENTS A. Waterways Clean Up Kimberly reported the waterway clean up is coming up, but no one has signed up. Clean up is March 13, 2021. 1 Discussion held on locations to target for drainage clean up. B. Easter Discussion held on converting event to in person. Committee decided to continue with drive through event. Kimberly stated the eggs are in and she needs to order the bags, she needs to know how many eggs to bag up. Stuff the bags next week, Monday at 10:00am Event is March 27, 2021 from 10a-12p C. Earth Day Kimberly stated we need to decide how we want to celebrate earth day. April 17, 2021 Janet will look into sea center coming. Motion to approve a budget of $250. This motion, made by Becky Thompson and seconded by Lindsie Yearsin, Passed. Yea: 4, Nay: 0 D. Don't Mess with Texas Trash Off Kimberly says we need to set a date - needs to be on TxDot maintained roadway. We did 2004 last time - so we can do 288b or 2004 again Need a date in April Committee chose April 10, 2021 10-12 -- looking for volunteers. Motion to approve a budget of $200 for trash off. This motion, made by Janet Jackson-Ellis and seconded by Lindsie Yearsin, Passed. Yea: 4, Nay: 0 E. May Parks Clean Up May clean up theme is parks - need to set a date May 8, 2021 10a-12p Kim recommends power washing parks - specifically bobby ford 2 F. KTB Annual Conference Kimberly reported that KTB will host their annual conference, but it will be virtual again. It will free some money up since we won’t be travelling. G. KTB/Houston Regional Training March 31 - 10-2 with an hour break for lunch If enough of us register we can sit in here and watch it. H. April Yard of the Month Kimberly restructured the yard of the month list since we have more members. Brittany is April - Audubon 1 and 2 VI. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Discussion and action regarding Adopt-a-Spot locations around town. Kimberly presented the information on Adopt-a-Spot. Kimberly suggests the area around the Dollar General. She added we need to find groups that would like to adopt spots. VII. FINANCIAL REPORT Kimberly presented the financial report. VIII. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT Kimberly reported that she is very grateful for the help and volunteerism. She encouraged everyone to sign up for the discord app so that she can send out volunteer opportunities. IX. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST Kimberly reported efforts in volunteering X. SET NEXT MEETING DATE April 6, 2021 XI. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Flags for memorial clean ups days earth day discuss and action allocation of funds for farmers market - poss art wall - public outreach - community garden (green house) - tools litter kits - increase scholarships - pop up parks -save it - litter prevention Sign in sheets 3 XII.
