STAFF PRESENT:

APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Staff requested to modify the agenda by tabling applications BOA20-10-01, BOA20-10-02 and BOA20-10-
04. Jeff Williams made a motion to modify the agenda, which was seconded by Terry Williamson. The
motion passed unanimously (5-0). Williams then made a motion to approve the modified agenda, which
was seconded by Williamson. The motion passed unanimously (5-0).
DETERMINATION OF QUORUM:
The five members listed above were determined to be present via roll call.
REVIEW OF THE MINUTES:
The minutes were approved by 6-0 vote, after a motion to approve from Will Byington and a second
from Jeff Williams.
APPLICATIONS:
BOA20-08-03, requests a road frontage reduction from 60’ to 47.75’ at 2210 Calhoun Hwy, Floyd County
Tax Parcel K12Z121. Applicant/Owner: David and Tianna McDaniel. Brice Wood presented the application
and staff report. Director Newell presented the staff recommendation of approval. David and Tianna
McDaniel were present to speak on behalf of the application. There was no one present to speak in
opposition. Once the public hearing was closed Terry Williamson asked whether the Fire Marshall’s Office
had reviewed the application. Staff confirmed that Fire Marshall Chewning had expressed no concern
regarding the application. Byington made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Williams. The
motion passed 5-0.
BOA20-10-03, requests to place a monument sign from 20’ to a 4’ setback to Ga Loop 1 and a 9’ setback
from JL Todd Blvd, at 2201 JL Todd Blvd, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County tax Parcel J13X001C. Applicants:
Riverside Professional Park, Larry Maxey, Mark Brewster. Brice Wood presented the application and staff
report. Director Newell presented the staff recommendation of approval. Mark Brewster was present to
speak on behalf of the application. There was no one present to speak in opposition. Von Lambert made
a motion to approve, which was seconded by Terry Williamson. The motion passed 5-0.
BOA-20-10-05, requests a side setback reduction from 7’ to 2’ for property at 6 Limon PL SW, Rome, GA
30165. Floyd County Tax Parcel H19011. Owner: Gregory G. Davis. Brice Wood presented the
application and staff report. Director Newell presented the staff recommendation of approval. Lisa
Davis was present to speak on behalf of the application and had her husband, Gregory Davis on the
phone. Byington made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Lambert. The motion passed 5-0.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Director Newell advised the voting members that the Committee on Committees had met and had made
a recommendation to the City Commission to fill the spot vacated by Carroll Hatch.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to bring before this body, the meeting of the Board of Adjustments was
adjourned by a 5-0 vote, at approximately 3:48 p.m.
