REVIEW OF THE MINUTES: The minutes were approved by 6-0 vote, after a motion to approve from Burkhalter and a second from Williams. APPLICATIONS: BOA20-08-03, Request to reduce front lot width on tract 12A from 150 ft to 47.75 feet to subdivide parcel for new lot for the property located at 2210 Calhoun Hwy, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County Tax Parcel K12Z121. Applicant/Owner: David & Tianna McDaniel BOA20-09-01, Request to reduce southern side setback from 15’ to 2’ on a preexisting metal building for the property located at 2015 N. Broad Street, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County Tax Parcel J13W153B. Applicant/Owner: Ron Brand/North Broad Holdings, LLC Newell presented the application, staff report and staff recommendation of approval. Brand was present to speak on behalf of the application. There was no one present to speak in opposition. Byington made a motion to approve the fence. The motion was seconded by Williamson. The motion to approve application passed 6-0. BOA20-09-02, Request to reduce northernmost rear setback from 25’ to 7’ and allow for a secondary structure on a parcel with no primary structure for the property located at 270 Smith Rd SW, Rome, GA 30165, Floyd County Tax Parcel H14X333. Applicant/Owner: Julian H Millican. Newell presented the application, staff report and recommendation of approval. Millican was present to speak on behalf of the application. There was no one present to speak in opposition. Williams made a motion to approve. The motion was seconded by Lambert. The motion to approve application passed 6-0. BOA20-09-03, Request to reduce required parking from 53 to 35 spaces for the property located at 0 Redmond Circle, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County Tax ParcelI12036. Applicant/Owner: Kyle Sharp OBO DG Rome, LLC/ State Mutual Insurance Company . Newell presented the application, staff report and recommendation of approval. Williams made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Burkhalter. The motion to approve application passed 6-0. BOA20-09-04, Request to reduce rear setback from 25’ to 4.6’ and reduce side setback from 7’ to 2’ for the construction of a detached garage for the property located at 109 Sunridge Drive, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County Tax Parcel I12036. Applicant/Owner: Charles E. Moon, Jr. Newell presented the application, staff report and recommendation of approval. Moon was present to speak on behalf of the application. Burkhalter made a motion to approve. The motion was seconded by Williams. The motion to approve application passed 6-1, with the single no vote from McDowell. BOA20-09-05, Request to allow for a secondary structure to be placed in front of a primary structure for the property located at 3358 Turkey Mountain Road, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County Tax Parcel M10X061. Applicant/Owner: April Wyman. Newell presented the application, staff report and recommendation of approval. Williamson made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Lambert. The motion to approve application passed 6-0. BOA20-09-06, Request to reduce rear setback from 20’ to 5’ for the construction of a detached garage for the property located at 102 Juniper Way SE, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County Tax Parcel J15X426. Applicant/Owner: John T. House. Newell presented the application, staff report and recommendation of approval. Williams made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Burkhalter. The motion to approve application passed 6-0. BOA20-09-07, Request to reduce required front landscape strip along Tamassee Lane from 20’ to 6.5’ for the property located at 2300 Shorter Avenue, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County Tax Parcel H13X286. Applicant/Owner: Kirk Farrelly. Newell presented the application, staff report and recommendation of approval. Lambert made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Williams. The motion to approve application passed 6-0. BOA20-09-08, Request to remove the additional parking requirement expansion for the proposed additional structure for the property located at 98 Darlington Dr, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County Tax Parcel J15X021. Applicant/Owner: Dean Saville. Newell presented the application, staff report and recommendation of approval. Williamson made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Williams. The motion to approve application passed 6-0. BOA20-09-10, Request to reduce rear setback from 30’ to 16.7’ and reduce front setback from 40’ to 21’ for the property located at 0 Redmond Circle, Rome, GA 30165, Floyd County Tax Parcel H13W043. Applicant/Owner: Arthur Outdoor, LLC. Newell presented the application, staff report and recommendation of approval. Williamson made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Burkhalter. The motion to approve application passed 6-0.
