Minutes Board of Adjustments May 20, 2021 Conducted via Zoom and in Sam King Room 2:30 pm MEMBERS PRESENT: Cameron Abney, Will Byington, Phil Burkhalter, Jarod Johnson, Von Lambert MEMBERS ABSENT: Terry Williamson STAFF PRESENT: Artagus Newell, Brice Wood, Frank Beacham, Chris Jackson PUBLIC PRESENT: Greg O’Dillon, Chris White, Bobby Howard, Ben Walker, Margaret Gardner, Nicholas Forsyth WELCOME: Acting Chair Will Byington called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone at approximately 2:30 PM DETERMINATION OF QUORUM: A quorum was determined via roll call. Johnson was present via Zoom. REVIEW OF THE MINUTES: Phil Burkhalter made a motion to approve the April 2021 Minutes, which was seconded by Von Lambert. The motion passed unanimously (4-0). APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Cameron Abney made a motion to approve the agenda, which was seconded by Burkhalter. The motion by common consent. BOA21-05-01, requests a variance to reduce the required parking from 55 spaces to 35 for the property located at 1201 and 0 Hwy 27, Armuchee, GA 30105, Floyd County Tax Parcels I09W028 and I09W029. Applicant/Owner: Hibbymo Properties-Armuchee, LLC/L.T. McDonald. Brice Wood presented the application, staff report and staff recommendation of approval. Bobby Howard was present to speak on behalf of the application. There was no one else present to speak in favor or opposition to the application. Phil Burkhalter made a motion to approve the application. Von Lambert seconded the motion. The motion passed 4-0. BOA21-05-04, requests a variance to reduce the rear setback from 25 feet to 12 feet for the property located at 6 Lakemore Dr, Rome, GA 30161, Floyd County Tax Parcel K13Z400. Applicant/Owner: Casey Busch/Greg O’Dillon. Brice Wood presented the application, staff report and staff recommendation of approval. Grego O’Dillon (homeowner) and Chris White were present to speak on behalf of the application. Upon discussion, Burkhalter asked if the Chief Building Official had reviewed the plans for the proposed project. Brice Wood confirmed that James Martin had reviewed the application packet and expressed no concern regarding the proposed development. Burkhalter made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Cameron Abney. The motion to approve passed 4-0. Adjournment There being no further business to bring before this body, the meeting of the Board of Adjustments was adjourned at 3:00 PM by a common consent, after a motion by from Acting Chair Byington, a second from Burkhalter and common consent.
