Determination of Quorum PRESENT: PUBLIC: Chris Davidson Mandy Maloney Doug Walker Beth Dunay David Clonts Mark Cochran Mary Sib Banks Brandie Townsend Wayne Robinson STAFF: Art Newell Brice Wood James Martin Megan Otwell Jim Bojo Frank Beacham Mary Catherine Chewing II. NEW BUSINESS – PUBLIC HEARINGS: 1. CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATIONS FOR CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATNESS 781-21; 241 Broad Street Between the Rivers Historic District Request: Exterior façade alteration on Broad Street side. Video and sound recording from meeting available upon request. There was discussion regarding the preservation of the DIANA terrazzo flooring. Cochran stated that they will look into options for preserving the tile to be uncovered in the future. The Rome Historic Preservation Commission approved the application as submitted. Motion by David Clonts. Second by Mary Sib Banks. All commissioners present voted in favor. III. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Chair and Vice Chair Discussion. Dunay and Maloney have agreed to another term. Motion by Brandi Townsend to reappoint Beth Dunay as Chairwoman for the 2021 term. Second by Chris Davidson. All commissioners present voted in favor. Motion by Mark Sib Banks to appoint Mandy Maloney as Vice Chair Woman for the 2021 term. Second by Chris Davidson. All commissioners present voted in favor. 2. Training Suggestions. Wood informed the commission to email staff training suggestions. 3. Preservation Month. Looks for volunteers to assist with program planning. Wood requested that those interested in participating in preservation month email Brittany Griffin. 4. We will be continuing meetings via Zoom until further notice. IV. ADJOURN Next Public Meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission: The next regular monthly meeting will be February 17, 2020 at 2:30 PM in the Zoom Platform.
