Minutes of the Cemetery Board Meeting Tuesday, June 20, 2017 REGULAR MEETING 4:00 P.M Committee Member Present: Jack Ferguson, President Jim Bloodhart, Vice President Jake Trujillo, Member Gabriel Casaus, Member Jeremy Hurley, Member Jason Perry, Liaison Staff Present: Ruben Esquivel, Cemetery Superintendent Daisy Diaz, Cemetery Administrative Assistant Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m. by President, Jack Ferguson. Committee members Trujillo, Bloodhart, Hurley, Casaus, and Liaison Mr. Jason Perry were present. Approval of Agenda Mr. Trujillo moved to approve the agenda as presented. Mr. Casaus was the second. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried, the June 20, 2017 agenda was approved. Approval of Minutes Mr. Trujillo made a motion, seconded by Mr. Bloodhart, to approve the minutes of the March 21, 2017 meeting. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Mr. Casaus made a motion, seconded by Mr. Hurley, to approve the minutes of the May 16, 2017 meeting. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Action Items None Non-Action Items 3. Sexton’s Report- Superintendent Ruben Esquivel reported 32 burials for the month of May for South Park and General Douglas McBride Veteran’s Cemetery, and 24 as of June 20, 2017. 4. Bookkeeper’s Report-Cemetery Administrative Assistant Daisy Diaz reported 1 transfer of property, 1 lot pay off, 1 lot sale, and 1 new contract for May. As of June 20, 2017 2 pay offs, 1 lot sale, and 1 new contract. 5. Discussion on Election of Officers- Mr. Ferguson opened up for the nomination of officers. Current board members agreed that all positions remain as is. Voting of officers will take place on July 18, 2017. 6. Update on Decoration Sign- Mr. Esquivel reported that 2 signs would be purchased stating the floral regulations for General Douglas McBride Veteran’s Cemetery. Signs will be in a landscape layout poster size (approximately 36”x 48”). They will have a navy blue background with white lettering, and will be placed on the East and West side of the entrance on the fence area of the veteran’s cemetery.
