Minutes of the Cemetery Board Meeting Tuesday, June 15, 2021 REGULAR MEETING 4:00 P.M Committee Member Present: Jack Ferguson, President Jim Bloodhart, Vice President Jeremy Hurley, Secretary Danny Fulkerson, Member Juan Oropesa, Liaison Staff Present: Ruben Esquivel, Cemetery Superintendent Daisy Diaz, Cemetery Administrative Assistant Call to Order President, Jack Ferguson, called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. Committee members present Hurley, Bloodhart, and Fulkerson. Approval of Agenda Mr. Hurley moved to approve the agenda as presented. Mr. Fulkerson seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried, the June 15, 2021 agenda was approved. Approval of Minutes Mr. Fulkerson made a motion, seconded by Mr. Bloodhart to approve the minutes of the May 18, 2021 meeting. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Non-Action Items 2. Sexton’s Report- Superintendent Ruben Esquivel reported 31 services for May for both South Park Cemetery and General Douglas McBride Veteran’s Cemetery. As of June 15, 2021, 13 funerals had taken place. Mr. Esquivel stated that due to the weather the Memorial Day Celebration had been canceled. Mr. Esquivel reported that due to the amount of rain many of the graves did sink in, he also stated that staff was still working on getting those graves leveled. 3. Bookkeeper’s Report- Mrs. Diaz reported two transfers, 7 lot sales, 2 pay offs and two new contracts for May. As of June 15, 2021, totals were one pay off, one lot sale, and one new contract. 4. Discussion on Columbarium- Mr. Esquivel stated that there were no new updates and would keep pushing to get the columbarium proposal going again.
