Minutes of the Cemetery Board Meeting Tuesday, February 15, 2022 REGULAR MEETING 4:00 P.M Committee Member Present: Jack Ferguson, President Jim Bloodhart, Vice President Jeremy Hurley, Secretary Danny Fulkerson, Member Jake Trujillo, Member Committee Member Absent: Juan Oropesa, Liaison Staff Present: Ruben Esquivel, Cemetery Superintendent Daisy Diaz, Cemetery Administrative Assistant Call to Order President, Jack Ferguson, called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. Committee members present Trujillo, Bloodhart, Hurley and Fulkerson. Approval of Agenda Mr. Fulkerson moved to approve the agenda as presented. Mr. Hurley seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried, the February 15, 2022 agenda was approved. Approval of Minutes Mr. Trujillo made a motion, seconded by Mr. Fulkerson to approve the minutes of the January 18, 2022 meeting. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Non-Action Items 2. Sexton’s Report- Superintendent Ruben Esquivel reported 46 services held in January for South Park Cemetery and General Douglas McBride Veteran’s Cemetery. As of February 15, 2022, 26 funerals had taken place. 3. Bookkeeper’s Report- Mrs. Diaz reported six lot sales, three pay offs, and two transfers for January. As of today February 15, 2022 two transfers, four new contracts, one pay offs, one lot sale. 4. Columbarium update- Mr. Esquivel reported all members of the City Council unanimously approved the columbarium proposal. The completion of the project would take about 8 months at the most 10 months. Plans to start building are set to begin within the next few months around mid-year. 5. Update on Board Member Terms- Mr. Esquivel stated that Mr. Ferguson had reached the end of his serving term as president, and board members Jim Bloodhart and Jeremy Hurley would need to submit a new application to serve another two-year term if they wished to continue on the board.
