Minutes of the Cemetery Board Meeting Tuesday, April 19, 2022 REGULAR MEETING 4:00 P.M Committee Member Present: Jim Bloodhart, Vice President Jeremy Hurley, Secretary Danny Fulkerson, Member Jake Trujillo, Member Committee Member Absent: Jack Ferguson, President Juan Oropesa, Liaison Staff Present: Ruben Esquivel, Cemetery Superintendent Daisy Diaz, Cemetery Administrative Assistant Others Present: Jeff Stuart, MRWM Landscape Architects Jason Perry, City Councilor Call to Order Vice President, Jim Bloodhart, called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m. Committee members present Trujillo, Hurley, and Fulkerson. Approval of Agenda Mr. Trujillo moved to approve the agenda as presented. Mr. Hurley seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried, the April 19, 2022 agenda was approved. Approval of Minutes Mr. Hurley made a motion, seconded by Mr. Fulkerson to approve the minutes of the February 15, 2022 meeting. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Action 2. Approval on Columbarium Proposal- Vice President Jim Bloodhart entertained a motion to proceed with the columbarium proposal changes. Mr. Fulkerson moved to approve the proposal Mr. Trujillo was second. A voice vote was unanimous and motion carried. Non-Action Items 3. Sexton’s Report- Superintendent Ruben Esquivel reported 39 services for February, 31 services for March and as of April 19, 2022, 20 funerals had taken place. 4. Bookkeeper’s Report- Mrs. Diaz reported one lot sale, three transfers, two pay offs and four contracts for February. One pay off, four lot sales, two transfers and one new contract for March. 5. Memorial Day Plans- Mr. Hurley stated that the Chaves County Veterans would be hosting this year’s Memorial Day Celebration. Celebration would be held Monday May 28, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the General Douglas McBride Veterans Cemetery. American Legion will be assisting in the placing of the flags at the veteran’s cemetery and at the entrance of South Park Cemetery. Local Boy Scouts along with other volunteers will be placing the flags for the veterans buried at South Park Cemetery.
