Minutes of the Cemetery Board Meeting Tuesday, April 18, 2023 REGULAR MEETING 4:00 P.M Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10- 15-1 through 10-15-4, NMSA 1978 and Resolution 23-01. A. Call to Order Vice President, Jim Bloodhart, called the meeting to order at 4:07 p.m. B. Roll Call Committee members present: Jim Bloodhart, Jeremy Hurley, and Jake Trujillo. Committee members absent: Danny Fulkerson Staff Present: Ruben Esquivel, Cemetery Superintendent, Daisy Diaz, Cemetery Administrative Assistant, and Juan Oropesa, Liaison. C. Approval of Agenda Mr. Jeremy Hurley moved to approve the agenda as presented. Mr. Jake Trujillo seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion to approve the agenda for April 18, 2023 passed 3-0 with member Danny Fulkerson being absent. D. Approval of Minutes Mr. Jake Trujillo moved to approve the minutes as presented. Mr. Jeremy Hurley seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion to approve the minutes from February 21, 2023 passed 3-0 with member Danny Fulkerson being absent. E. Non-Action Items 2. Sexton’s Report- Superintendent Ruben Esquivel reported 34 services for February and 28 services for March. He also stated the cemetery had lost another employee and now had three positions open. Mr. Esquivel gave an update on the columbarium the proposal to obtain the additional funds was approved by city council. He also stated the construction on the well had started concrete had been poured and they were currently on the drilling process. 3. Bookkeeper’s Report- Mrs. Diaz reported 6 lot sales and 1 contract for February and 4 transfers, 10 lot sales, and 3 contracts for March. 4. Rules and Regulations Update- Mr. Esquivel stated he would like to add the estate rule in which you buy 9 spaces you are allowed to place a bench. He would also like to add the yearly flower policy that happens at the end of January or beginning of February the staff goes through the cemetery and removes all Christmas flowers and decorations. 5. Memorial Tree Planting- Mrs. Blewett was not present during the meeting. Mr. Esquivel informed the board that Mrs. Blewett was interested on planting some trees in memory of her loved one. F.
