Call To Order Board Chair Matt Pacheco called meeting to order at 12:10 p.m. B. Roll Call The following were present: Members: Matt Pacheco and Donna Daniel via GoTo Meeting, and Megan Cederberg in person. Staff: Kathy Lay Guests: Larry Connolly and Rita Kane-Doerhoefer via GoTo Meeting, and Juno Ogle in person. C. Approval of Agenda Member Daniel made a motion to approve the agenda for the January 31, 2022, KRB meeting, Member Cederberg was the seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion passed. D. Approval of Minutes Member Cederberg made a motion to approve the minutes of the December 16, 2021 meeting, Member Daniel was the seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion passed. E. Non-Action Items 1. Discussion of Arbor Day tree seedling giveaway. Kathy Lay spoke with Ruben Esquivel. He has ordered 600 seedlings and hopes to order an additional 400 more. The date & location of giveaway will be April 9, 2022 from 9:00- 11:00 a.m. at Cielo Grande Park. Incentives will also be given away at that time. 2. Members Pacheco and Cederberg KRB Board terms expire April 1, 2022. Kathy Lay informed the board that both members Pacheco and Cederberg terms will expire April 1, 2022. They are both able to serve second term if they would like, but they need to complete and submit KRB Board application in order to serve a second term. F. Information Items 3. Grant fund addition to KRB budget update. Grant funds that were received in August should be added to budget by February 11th and available to fund remaining grant projects after that. 4. Empowering Youth Fundraiser Cleanup update. Twelve of the fourteen grant funded cleanups have been completed. This past Saturday was the 12th and with additional volunteer and support from Solid Waste, 59,960 lbs. of trash was cleaned up at the neighborhood by the old base. 5. Project ideas for FY 23 grant application. Kathy Lay invited board members to submit ideas for projects that could possibly be included in the FY23 Clean and Beautiful grant application she will be writing in the coming weeks. 6. Invitation to speak at Sierra Middle School February 16. Kathy Lay reported that she has been invited on behalf of KRB to share with 210 students about litter prevention, environmental impact of litter, recycling, etc. She is also invited to bring along staff from the City Solid Waste Dept. to answer questions of the students, and will be giving students free incentives. G. Public Comments Larry Connolly mentioned an article about making benches from bottle caps that he read in a magazine. He suggested asking Southwest Printers about the magazine, as they would possibly have a copy. H. Adjourn Member Cederberg made a motion to adjourn, Member Daniel was the seconded.
