Regular Meeting of the Public Safety Committee Held in the Conference Room at City Hall May 22, 2017 Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4 NMSA 1978 and Resolution 16-69. ROLL CALL The meeting convened at 4:00 p.m. with Chair Sandoval presiding and Councilors Sanchez, Foster and Mackey being present. Staff present: Mike Mathews, Devin Graham, Phil Smith and Karen Sanders. Guest present: Larry Connolly APPROVAL OF AGENDA and MINUTES Councilor Foster moved to approve the May 22, 2017 regular Public Safety Committee meeting agenda as presented and the minutes from the March 29, 2017 Public Safety Committee meeting. Councilor Mackey was the second. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion passed. REGULAR ITEMS Purchase of communications equipment for Roswell and Chaves using a Department of Homeland Security Grant in the amount of $132,950.93. Mr. Mathews presented the purchase request stating that Roswell/Chaves County Emergency Manager Karen Sanders applied for and received a grant to continue with a phased approach to address inoperable communications in Roswell and Chaves County. Ms. Sanders will continue to pursue such grants to continue the phased approach to complete this project. Councilor Mackey moved to send to full City Council on consent agenda the purchase of communication equipment using a DHS grant. Councilor Foster was the second. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion passed. NON-ACTION ITEMS None ADJOURN The meeting adjourned at 4:06 p.m.
