Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes Monday August 20, 2012 @ 4:00 p.m. Bassett Auditorium MEMBERS PRESENT: Jimi Gadzia, Joyce Tucker, Melinda Gonzalez, Richard Cibak, Ivan Hall, Mike Pemberton, Bob Phillips MEMBERS ABSENT: Fatima Barnes, Carolyn Sidd, Tom Tutor OTHERS PRESENT: Laurie Rufe, Stacye Hunter, Caroline Brooks, Tracy Hutcherson, Deborah Melancon, Kenna Arganbright CALL TO ORDER: 3:59 PRESIDENT’S REMARKS: Jimi Gadzia, President None. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: May Minutes were approved. Ivan Hall moved to accept the minutes, Bob Phillips seconded: all were in favor and the motion carried without dissent. June and July meetings did not have a quorum. FINANCIAL REPORT: Deborah Melancon, Bookkeeper. Inclusion of budget and fiscal year to date expenses. MEMBERSHIP REPORTS: Tracy Hutcherson, Membership Coordinator Inclusion of June Membership and Visitors Report and fiscal year end reports for 11/12. EDUCATION COMMITTEE: None. ACQUISITIONS COMMITTEE: None. MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: None. DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Laurie Rufe, Executive Director August 20, 2012 1. Status Report on Collections Management, Facilities Enhancement, and Conservation Plan 2009- 2012. The 2012-2015 plan has been updated and is provided for review. The goals and the strategies will be aligned with the 2012-2015 strategic long-range plan. 2. Wiggins Commission – The RMAC Foundation will hold a print party on November 2 to sell limited edition prints of the Kim Wiggins commission. They are still working out details, but the party will feature wine and hors d’oeuvres, a talk by Kim, and a print signing party. Cost for a ticket (which includes the print) is $250.00 per couple. [Amended: cost for the print is $150; no cost to attend the event as per change made by the Foundation] 3. FAM Tour – The Chaves County Tourism will conduct FAM tours for front line hotel personnel on August 26 and 27. We are a visit site. This is to educate front line personnel about our area attractions. 4. Art Block Party – Sign up to help! We need assistance with hands-on art stations and Blue Bell ice cream and cake serving.
