Dorothy Gruver offered a number of works, the board approved three: 1. Sam Scott – Born in Chicago 1969. He moved to Santa Fe and taught at U of A. He is already in our collection (three works with more color). One of Santa Fe’s most respected painters and is called a State Treasure. The work is “Homage to Mountains,” it is 22 x 30 on canvas done in 1998. Valued at around $1,000.00 2. Jim Waid (we also have some of his work in our collection). Born in Oklahoma and grew up in Carlsbad. It’s a color field painting done in the ‘70s. He was an invitational artist in 1999. The work is acrylic on canvas and is 10 x 18, most are 36x 48 in our collection. Valued at 3-5 thousand dollars. 3. Bruce McGrew born in Beaumont, Texas. He was a professor for 30 years. He is known for landscapes infused with lights. Swallow is mixed media: wood, acrylic median with dirt (clay) and fabric at the top and measures 30 x 28. He was in Santa Fe in 2011. Value – Will have Dorothy get a value for tax purposes, but does not have the national reputation as the others, and watercolor is not as high. One is framed, the others do not require framing. Mike Pemberton moved to accept acquisitions, Melinda Gonzalez seconded: all were in favor. MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: None. DIRECTOR’S REPORT: None. NEW BUSINESS: None. OTHER BUSINESS: 1 NOMINATING COMMITTEE: President Jimi Gadzia: We are looking for someone to serve the remainder of Elley Mulkey’s term (ends in April). Rey Berrones is willing. Nominating Committee will be taking a vote on that. Rey, the editor of Vision Magazine, attends all of RMAC openings. Very supportive and free ads when we submit a column. Rey would potentially serve until April when he would be eligible to run again. Carolyn Sidd moved to accept Nomination, Ivan Hall seconded: all were in favor. BOT Meeting adjourned: Mike Pemberton moved to adjourn the meeting at 4:22, Joyce Tucker seconded: all were in favor and the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Tracy L.
