ROSWELL MUSEUM MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES PLANNING WORKSHOP Friday, September 9, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. 1011 N. Richardson Ave. Roswell, NM 88201 DRAFT DOCUMENT REGULAR MEETING AT 3:06 p.m. Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4, NMSA 1978 and Resolution 22-14. For the Record: The meeting is being streamed live for the public through GoToMeeting. There was no public on GoTo Meeting. A. CALL TO ORDER Board Chair Liakos called the meeting of the Board of Trustees to order at 3:06 p.m. B. ROLL CALL The meeting of the Board of Trustees convened with members Cymantha Liakos, Kyle Bayless, Valli West, Kay Cargill Jenkins, Lorrina Segovia, Donovan Fulkerson, Elisa Begueria and Anne Baker being present. A quorum was established with members Tim Hartwick, Kate Griffo, and Pricilla Ornelas being absent. Staff present: Caroline Brooks, Executive Director. Aaron Wilder, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions, Cloe Medrano, Registrar, Maria Beitz, Preparator, Jessica Parham, Educator, and Janet Freeman, Intern. Community members present: Cindy Torrez, Director RMAC Foundation and Sarah McArthur. ACTION ITEMS C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member West motioned to approve the agenda. Member Jenkins was the second. A voice vote was as follows: Cymantha Liakos-yes, Kyle Bayless-yes, Valli West-yes, Kay Cargill Jenkins-yes, Lorrina Segovia-yes, Donovan Fulkerson- yes, Elisa Begueria - yes and Anne Baker-yes and the motion passed 8-0 and with Tim Hartwick, Kate Griffo, and Pricilla Ornelas being absent. INFORMATION ONLY ITEMS D. Workshop Overview Director Brooks informed the group of the meeting timeline and is aiming for a finalized amended version of the strategic plan for January/February 2023. The group went over the previous strategic plan and the goals which had been achieved. E. Visioning Exercise Director Brooks walked everyone through a worksheet of what each person envisions for the museum’s future. These questions consist of what areas the museum can improve, if money were not an issue, and where the museum is exceling. F. Survey Results Review and Discussion A survey was sent out to the museum employees, board members, and foundation members regarding the museum performance. Director Brooks discussed the results and how these comments will be added into the strategic plan. G. Discussion of Primary Goals The primary goals were discussed by the group, these included Master Plan, Community Engagement, and Marketing. However, these goals will be added to and will be further addressed at the next meeting. H. Public Comments No comments. I. Adjourn Member West motioned to adjourned. Member Segovia was the second.
