Richardson Ave. Roswell, NM 88201 DRAFT DOCUMENT REGULAR MEETING AT 4:00 p.m. Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4, NMSA 1978 and Resolution 24-23. For the Record: Meeting is being streamed live for the public through GoToMeeting. There was no public on GoTo Meeting. A. CALL TO ORDER Board Chair West called the meeting of the Board of Trustees to order at 4:16 p.m. B. ROLL CALL The meeting of the Board of Trustees convened with members, Valli West, Anne Baker, Tim Hartwick, Lorrina Segovia and Christy Murphy present. A quorum was established with members Kay Cargill Jenkins, Jane Avery Gray, Elisa Begueria, Nina Leacock, and Lindsay Mayo Fincher being absent. City Council members present: The museum has not been appointed a city council liaison with the new council members. Staff present: Aaron Wilder, Curator, and Jessica Parham, Educator, and Cloe Medrano, Registrar Community members present: None. ACTION ITEMS C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Fincher motioned to approve the agenda. Member Baker was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, the motion passed 5-0, with members Jenkins, Gray, Begueria, and Segovia being absent. D. Approval of the May 20, 2024 meeting minutes Member Baker motioned to approve the May 20, 2024 meeting minutes with a change to item G to deny the cancellation of June board meeting. Member Hartwick was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, the motion passed 5-0, with members Jenkins, Gray, Begueria, Leacock, and Fincher being absent. FOR THE RECORD Nina Leacock arrived at 4:18 p.m. E. Discussion and consider approval of acquisition of print by Eluid Martinez donated by the artist Member Leacock motioned to approve the acquisition of print by Eluid Martinez. Member Baker was the second. A voice vote was unanimous, the motion passed 6-0, with members Jenkins, Gray, Begueria, and Fincher being absent. F. Discussion and consider approval of acquisition of drawing by Raymond Jonson donated by Signe Stuart. Welcome to Christy Murphy Member Murphy introduce herself to the board, and expressed her excitement to be apart of the board. H. Renovation Progress Update During construction of the new museum store and updates to the lobby, the main entrance to the museum will be closed. During this time, a temporary entrance will be in use at the planetarium. The terrazzo flooring is finishing up and is estimated to be done June 26, 2024. FOR THE RECORD Christy Murphy left at 4:40 p.m. I. Governance Working Group Report The members have found some potential candidates and are sending them more information about being on the board. J. NAGPRA Update Registrar Medrano informed the board a new inventory is currently in the works. Once the inventory is done, it will be submitted to the NAGPRA data base. Once submitted, the museum will research out to tribes and start a conversation about the items in the musem collection. K. Director’s Report Curator Wilder informed the board the first of two recent MFA graduate exhibitions, Dominick Porras: Silvery Synthesis, opened. Two free family-friendly films will be shown this summer, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs on June 21, and Zathura: A Space Adventure on July 26 outside the planetarium. Games and activities will be available at 8 pm and the movies will begin at dusk. Registration has begun for kid’s clay and drawing and painting classes. L. RMAC Foundation Report No comment. M.
