It would be on the outside wall of the elevator/stairwell shaft of the building located at 215 S Center St. The mural is being proposed by @properties Christie’s International Real Estate (Suite 200 of the building). It would be visible from 3rd St if you’re facing S Center St. Rather than being a painted mural, this would be made from exterior grade material vinyl. The mural would be done by FASTSIGNS Detroit, a local company specializing in marketing signage. The idea for the mural is to have the word ‘love’ in large white cursive letters displayed directly across the bricks and windows of the elevator shaft. The name of the proposed mural is ‘LOVE Where You Live’ and it comes from the company’s Love Where You Live ad campaign. In 2015, a Chicago-based artist was commissioned by @properties to create the . Page 4 of 9 logo and turn it into a mural on one of @properties Chicago offices. This mural can now be seen in multiple places throughout Chicago, and there’s one in Dallas as well. Should the Commission for the Arts recommend the approval of this application request to the City Commission, the City Attorney will draft a contract and licensing agreement for the project.
