CITY OF ROYAL OAK REHABILITATION BOARD OF APPEALS MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MAY 28, 2013 A regular meeting of the Rehabilitation Board of Appeals was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in Room 309 of City Hall. PRESENT: ABSENT: John D’Agnillo Bill Willard Chairperson James Johnson Commissioner Kyle DuBuc Vice Chairperson Pete Mancour Marshall Thompson Carl Stone STAFF ALSO PRESENT: Debbie Matyka, Rehabilitation Finance Officer ********** Chairperson Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. ********** PUBLIC COMMENT Chairperson Johnson opened the Public Comment, hearing none, the Public Hearing was closed. ********** MINUTES of MARCH 26, 2013 MEETING Mr. Mancour stated that the resolution on page four was not correct. It was to have been contingent upon City Commission support for a Senior Center Program that was approximately $250,000.00. Mr. Stone conquered. ********* REHABILITATION APPEALS Case G/L-2572/12. Ms. Matyka stated that the applicants were a married couple with four dependants, three of whom were five and under. The applicants has asked for a bathroom remodel and that the required lead test came back positive for lead. The required lead work raised the amount of work to be done to $52,000.00, with the bathroom being only $9,900.00. The Board of Review denied the loan/grant as it was over the maximum loan of $40,000. The request is for a $20,000.00 grant and a $32,000.00 loan payable over fifteen years at $177.77. The Board discussed the case including the maximum levels for the loans and grants, the loan to value for the property and the remaining funding for the fiscal year.
