Airport Commission Meeting Notes
4/23/2019
The Russellville Regional Airport Commission recently held it’s monthly meeting. Airport Director Keith
Frazier reported that Year-to-Date fuel volume on sales was at 16,754 gallons which is a 2.2% increase
over March of 2018. Self-Sufficiency for March was at 66.12%
In Old Business the Commission discussed hangar development and drafting a proposal to submit to
Mayor Harris for his review and discussion.
The Commission also heard updates from Director Frazier about placing the utility lines on South Elmira
underground to make approaches and departures on the West end of the runway safer for pilots.
Frazier also updated the Commission of the status of the upcoming Airport Improvement grant for the
runway overlay and lighting project. Frazier stated that the plans have been submitted to the FAA for
their review and approval and once the plans were approved the project would then go out for bids.
In New Business the Commission discussed the current webpage and its integration with the city’s
website. It was suggested that updated information for the Commission, updated pictures and events,
fuel pricing and links to local places of interests and things to do in Russellville.
The Commission also approved starting the process of seeking grant funding from the Arkansas
Department of Aeronautics for the construction of new hangars at the airport. Director Frazier stated
that right now there are four individuals that are on a waiting list for hangars and that the airport
receive calls frequently from interested parties inquiring about hangar space availability at the airport.
In other business Director Frazier stated the airport will be hosting a Fly-In on June 22nd from 11 am to 2
pm. This will be a Pickin’ and Grinnin” Fly-In with live music and participants will be encouraged to bring
their favorite musical instruments and play. The event is also open to the public.
Food and refreshments will be available.
