Miscellaneous MEETING ADJOURNED: 18:50 PM March 2024 KRUE Commission Meeting Minutes Updates on Old Business FAA Inspection: · Results are back, KRUE is in the clear · Suggestion from the inspector to updated the SOP to reflect the Hangar Use Policy o Action to have all commissioners review (in lieu of three new commissioners) and resubmit the developed SOP to ensure this suggestion is addressed KRUE Project Update (See attachment from McClelland): · Apron Reconstruction has commenced · Project advertised and bidding open on 4/16/24 at 14:00 at City Hall · Grant Application to the FAA by 05/01/24 · 80-20 ADA grant application to crack seal and seal coat Taxiway Alpha has been approved by City Council. Commissioner Vacancies: · Welcome new Commissioners John Baker and Corey Bauer! Eclipse Update: · Tamale truck on site · Pilots will be welcomed on a First Come First Served Basis o If parking becomes an issue, KRUE is prepared to fuel planes and send them on to another airport · 175 Airplane Chocks have been acquired and are being marked · Wet grass may require partial Taxiway closure to accommodate more parking · Volunteers from the field are expected o Volunteers will be provided with radio, safety vests, hearing protection, and likely work in pairs as partners. Potential ANO Summer Celebration: · This event will be postponed allowing for additional planning and funding. Future plans anticipated for 2025. Civil Air Patrol Airfest: · CAP Recruiting Event o Fly-in spectators o Fly-by demonstrations o Formation Flying (RV Group Bulldogs) March 2024 KRUE Commission Meeting Minutes o Jets o Turbo Prop o Hot Dogs & Hamburgers o Open to the Public o Looking for Donations from the Community New Business: · Create a graph or some sort of visual tool to track and trend Aircraft movement from year to year. · Explore obtaining an Electronic Monitoring Device to track and trend aircraft movement. · Corporate Aircraft Voting in July will potentially increase Jet Traffic and Fuel Sales · Soft-Serve Ice Cream machine o Potential to partner with Sugar Creek / Honey Hill about donating overages of their soft serve product · Entergy scheduled to replace all incandescent lights in Hangars with LED lighting. · New snack area in the Pilots lounge – Tip Jar to be self-sustaining · Moving the Grass strip from the south side of the field to the center (between Taxiway Alpha and Runway) · Benchmark with Searcy on how they’re building Hangars so quickly · ADA Grant Planning o What are some projects we’d like to see? o EX: New Hangars, sealant on Taxiway B, Renovation of Hangar 1-West, Drainage issues corrected, etc · Fundraising would be a great way to maximize the amount of money the city could match. Julie – Create a visual tool for tracking and trending Aircraft Movement – 04/23/24 3. Patrick – Obtain quotes for Electronic Monitoring System (owning vs renting) – 04/23/24 4. Patrick – Contact Searcy to Benchmark their Hangar building process – 04/23/24 5. Patrick – Contact Sugar Creek / Honey Hill regarding donation of overages of soft-serve product – 04/23/24
