Updates on Old Business
KRUE Project Update (See attachment from McClelland):
· Apron Reconstruction has commenced
· Project advertised and bidding open on 4/16/24 at 14:00 at City Hall
· Grant Application to the FAA by 05/01/24
· 80-20 ADA grant application to crack seal and seal coat Taxiway Alpha has been
approved by City Council.
Eclipse Update:
· 175 Airplane Chocks given out
· >90 aircraft participated
· Fuel Sales:
o 5500 gal Jet A
o 1120 gal AvGas
Civil Air Patrol Airfest:
· CAP Recruiting Event
o Fly-in spectators
o Fly-by demonstrations
o Formation Flying (RV Group Bulldogs)
o Jets
o Turbo Prop
o Hot Dogs & Hamburgers
o Open to the Public
o Looking for Donations from the Community
· Corporate Aircraft Voting in July will potentially increase Jet Traffic and Fuel Sales
· Soft-Serve Ice Cream machine
o Potential to partner with Sugar Creek / Honey Hill about donating overages of
their soft serve product
· Moving the Grass strip from the south side of the field to the center (between Taxiway
Alpha and Runway)
· ADA Grant Planning
o What are some projects we’d like to see?
o EX: New Hangars, sealant on Taxiway B, Renovation of Hangar 1-West, Drainage
issues corrected, etc
· Fundraising would be a great way to maximize the amount of money the city could
match.

New Business:
Airport Monitoring System:
· System would cost $1500 for an annual subscription
· System would track aircraft with and without ADS-B
· Provide more accurate traffic data
o Traffic is easily missed when out of sight or line workers are occupied with other
aircraft
· Track duration of planes time at airport
o Will provide some insight to how much time people are spending in Russellville
Searcy Hangar Building Benchmark:
· Searcy’s Airport Manager has reported using State grants to build hangars
· ADA is currently replenishing its Hangar Grant funds
o Something to watch for in the future once it’s available again
· Searcy is using A&P taxes to build a tennis court
o How/what can we build in a similar fashion?
Miscellaneous:
· Crawfish Boil – 4/26/24 @ 18:00
o Suggestion to move future events to Saturdays around Lunch to accommodate
aircraft that may not be able to fly at night
· Is Policy needed for the Hangar Waitlist?
o Ex: What happens if someone makes it to the top of the Hangar waitlist and
doesn’t own an aircraft yet?
Open Action Items (Owner – Action – Due Date):
1. Patrick – Email commissioners a video about Airport Monitoring System - Complete
2. Patrick – Contact Sugar Creek / Honey Hill regarding donation of overages of soft-serve
product – Due by May 2024 meeting
3. Patrick / Commissioners – Do we need to reschedule May 2024 meeting? Currently
scheduled for May 28 (the day after Memorial Day) – Decision and Communication due
by 5/7/24.
