BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES October 28, 2019 The Board of Adjustment held its regular monthly meeting on Monday. September 23, 2019 at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Members Present Chairman Wendell Miller Vice Chairman Scott Sanders Secretary Justin Cothren John Choate Don Jacimore Members Absent None Visitors Present: Mayor Richard Harris, City Planner Sara Jondahl, City Attorney Trey Smith, Planning Assistant Lequitta Jones, Public Works Director Kenneth Duvall, City Engineer Glenn Newman, Ben Gray Floodplain Manager, Building Official Brian Holstein, Jim Lynch/City Corp, Zayne Bryson, Chad Weisler/Van Horn Construction, and Tripp Croom/Van Horn Construction. Welcome Visitors The First Order of Business was a request to review and approve the minutes of the September 23, 2019 meeting. Member Choate made the motion to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion was seconded by Member Sanders and passed unanimously. The Second Order of Business was a public hearing requesting approval for a 3-foot 6- inch variance which would create a 21-foot 6-inch separation from the sign to the edge of the road, for property located at 790 Tyler Road. Submitted by Tripp Croom, E.I., of Van Horn Construction. (BOA.19.10.3653) City Planner Jondahl said she does not see an issue on granting a variance for construction of a sign as requested. Tripp Croom representing Van Horn Construction said the sign will be beneficial to the community and more appealing to the public for the front entrance. Member Cothren made the motion to approve the variance as requested.
