CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING 5:00 p.m., February 26, 2013 City Hall 1st Floor Conference Room Commissioners: City/Department Representatives: Toni Bachman, Chairman, Present Freddie Harris, City Council Liaison, Present Bert Fleck, Present Trey Smith, City Attorney, Present Garrie Kellam, Absent Jeff Humphrey, Police Chief, Present Jim Campbell, Present John Cochran, Fire Chief, Present Phillip Lea, Present Tracey Cline-Pew, Human Resources, Present Meeting Minutes Chairman Toni Bachman called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. The Commission reviewed the minutes of the January meeting. Bert Fleck made a motion that the minutes be approved. Phillip Lea seconded the motion. The minutes were approved. OLD BUSINESS Civil Service Commission • None. Police • None. Fire Department • None. NEW BUSINESS Civil Service Commission • None. Police Department • Chief Humphrey advised that the Police Department was experiencing an unusually high turnover rate. Although they have a Certified List in place, many applicants have asked to be removed. Chief Humphrey suggested that entry-level testing be performed in April. Since the position must be posted for a minimum of thirty (30) days, the following testing schedule was set:  April 13, 2013 8:00 a.m. Physical Ability Testing RPD Firing Range 1:00 p.m. Written Test RPD Conference Room April 20, 2013 8:00 a.m. Oral Interview RPD Conference Room Toni Bachman, Bert Fleck, Jim Campbell and Phillip Lea are available for the testing/interviewing process. Fire Department • None Jim Campbell made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. Bert Fleck seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
