Council Meeting

Regular Council Meeting February 6, 2023 Mayor Stan Townsend called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In attendance were Kathy Rupp, Darwin Sietsema, Brian Baartman, and Chris McCurdy. Also in attendance was Darrin Haroldson. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Minutes of the January meeting were approved by M/Sietsema 2/Baartman/cd unanimously. The council approved to authorize Bollig Engineering to begin collecting data for the required Federal Lead Service Line Inventory and to apply for the MDH Grant to pay for the Lead Service Line Inventory Report by M/Sietsema 2/Rupp/cd unanimously. There is NO fee to collect the data or to apply for the inventory grant. Wastewater Supervisor, Darrin Haroldson gave the council his report for the month of January and answered the council’s questions. The January bills were presented and approved by M/Baartman 2/Sietsema/cd unanimously. The council approved a donation of $150.00 for the RTR After-Prom by M/Sietsema 2/McCurdy/cd unanimously. The council feels the After Prom is to provide a safe environment for our young people to go and that Ruthton really has no place to go. The meeting adjourned at 7:28 p.m. by M/Baartman 2/Rupp/cd.
