PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES February 11, 2026 6:00 PM Sahuarita Town Hall 375 W. Sahuarita Center Way, Sahuarita, AZ 85629 Members Present: Vice Chair Jeffrey Allen, Commissioner Gina Anderson, Commissioner Sheldon Zatkin, Commissioner Shari Lowell Members Absent: Chairperson Erin Thomas, Commissioner Grace Marrero, Commissioner Moises Vallejo _____________________________________________________________________ 1. Call to Order Meeting was called to order at 6:00PM 2. Roll Call Roll call was done and a quorum was confirmed. 3. Approval of Minutes The November 19, 2025, meeting minutes were approved. 4. Parks & Recreation Director Update  Presented budget priorities: master plan update, indoor space assessment, Parcel 30 planning, and an investment grade audit concept.  Discussed facility/operations needs: IMAX Park concessions building replacement, staffing pressures, and system/software/website improvements.  Framed the dog park controversy (community backlash/legal threats), supported survey approach, and raised possible user-fee/access control ideas.  Field operations: met user groups on field fee increases, allocations, and field- light scheduling responsibility.  Programming: new guide + expanded open gym (future weekends), exploring interactive projector and “walking bus” concept. 1   Events/business support: winter event turnout (~14–15k), sponsorship windows, March 5 vendor meeting, and resident-first vendor registration (48-hour head start).  See Powerpoint for further details 5.
