VY tlYI_I GGI' TOWN COUNCIL MEETING M INUTES Ae1q!,' REGULAR MEETING MINUTES MARCH 13, 2017 The Mayor and Council of the Town of Sahuarita met in the Town Hall Council Chambers, 375 West Sahuarita Center Way, Sahuarita, Arizona on Monday, March 13, 2017. 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6: 30 p. m. by Mayor Murphy. 2. Invocation The Invocation was given by Pastor Brian Steely from the Sahuarita Baptist Church. 3. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Jade Morales, a second grade student Copper View Elementary. 4. Proclamation declaring March 9, 2017 as Professional Buyer' s Day and the month of March 2017 as Procurement Month. Mayor Murphy presented a proclamation to Cherie Odeski, Procurement Officer, declaring March 9, 2017 as Professional Buyer' s Day and the month of March 2017 as Procurement Month. Lisa Cole, Town Clerk, updated the Council on Sahuarita Branding Initiative activities. C. Fiesta Sahuarita update and Proclamation declaring March 25, 2017 as Fiesta Sahuarita Day. Debbie Summers, Parks and Recreation Director, briefed the Council on Fiesta Sahuarita events and entertainment. Mayor Murphy proclaimed March 25, 2017 as Fiesta Sahuarita Day and presented the proclamation to Ms. Summers. 6. Approval of Agenda MOTION was made to approve the agenda as published. Council Members Egbert and Skelton absent. RESULT: APPROVED [ UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Blumberg, Town Council Member SECONDER: Bracco, Town Council Member AYES: Hicks, Lusk, Murphy 7. Call to the public. Jeremy Sharpe, Rancho Sahuarita, thanked the Mayor, Council and Town Staff for their support of the Rancho Sahuarita Cancer Walk. Also, Mr. Sharpe updated the Council on the construction started at the commercial development known as " The Corner". 8. Consent Agenda A. Approval of the February 13, 2017 Regular Meeting Minutes. B. Approval of a license agreement between the Town of Sahuarita and Circle K Stores Inc., granting permission to encroach on portions of the Town' s right-of-way for the purpose of installation, repair and replacement of landscaping, maintenance, irrigation systems, monumentation, and regulatory and other signage in the license area for a period of twenty-five ( 25) years. MOTION was made to approve the consent agenda. Council Members Egbert and Skelton absent. Public hearing and recommendation to the Arizona Department of Revenue regarding a Class " A" bingo license application by the Sahuarita Elks Lodge No. 2851 to conduct bingo games every Wednesday, commencing at 1: 00 p. m., at the Green Valley Masonic Lodge, 18090 La Canada Drive, Sahuarita, Arizona. Lisa Cole, Town Clerk, gave an overview of the Bingo License application for the Sahuarita Elks Lodge No. 2851. Mayor Murphy opened the Public Hearing. There were no speakers. Mayor Murphy closed the public hearing. MOTION was made to submit the Class " A" bingo license requested by the Sahuarita Elks Lodge No. 2851 to the Arizona Department of Revenue with a recommendation for approval. Council Members Egbert and Skelton absent. RESULT: APPROVED [ UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Lusk, Town Council Member SECONDER: Blumberg, Town Council Member AYES: Bracco, Hicks, Murphy 10. Council and Town Manager Reports and Requests The Town Manager, Council and Mayor reported on current events. Council Member Lusk requested to discuss the Pima Animal Care Center IGA at a future Town Council meeting. Town Manager L. Kelly Udall stated staff was working on the IGA and that Council would be briefed in the future. 11. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 7: 02 p. m. by Mayor Murphy.
